  • Publication number: 20060097825
Abstract: A dielectric resonance element resonating in the TE01 ? mode and a protrusion portion disposed in a direction perpendicular to the bottom surface of the dielectric resonance element are integrally molded, and the side face at the outer periphery of the protrusion portion is tilted such that the area on the bottom-surface side of the dielectric resonance element is larger than the area of the lower surface of the protrusion portion. Because of such a structure, the magnetic field of the dielectric resonance element spreads to the tilted portion of the side face at the outer periphery of the protrusion portion and around the tilted portion of the side face, and the magnetic field distribution increases under the dielectric resonance element. Even if an input-output electrode is disposed at a location away from the protrusion portion, the input-output electrode is strongly coupled to the dielectric resonance element, resulting in a sufficient coupling.

  • Publication number: 20030117244
Abstract: A dielectric resonance element comprises a dielectric member integrally formed and composed of first and second plate portions which intersect each other such that respective center lines of the plate portions are coincident with each other. The first and second plate portions cause TE01&dgr; resonance modes to develop, in which the electric field vectors of the TE01&dgr; resonance modes are turned in the in-plane directions of the plate portions.

  • Patent number: 6429756
Abstract: A dielectric resonator comprising a resonator section and a supporting base section which are made of the same dielectric material as a single unit. The resonator section and the supporting base section have substantially the same outside diameter. A concave section having a trapezoidal cross-sectional shape is provided within the supporting base section such that the inside diameter of the supporting base section becomes smaller in the direction from the end face, which is used as a mounting face, and toward the resonator section.

  • Patent number: 5736912
Abstract: A frequency adjustment mechanism for a dielectric resonator in which a change of a unloaded Q is small by adjustment of a resonating frequency, a tuning rod may be stably fixed in place after the adjustment without using any adhesives or the like and it is possible to readily perform the re-adjustment. A hole 14 is provided at an axially central portion of the dielectric resonator 11 and the tuning rod 15 is threadingly inserted into the hole 14. A female screw thread 14a is formed in an inner circumferential surface of the hole 14, and a male screw thread 15a is formed on an outer circumferential surface of the tuning rod 15. Resin layers 16 and 17 are formed on surfaces of the female screw thread 14a and the male screw thread 15a, respectively. The tuning rod 15 is made of dielectric material having a low loss and a high dielectric constant. The resin layers 16 and 17 are made of resin material having an elasticity and a low loss.

  • Patent number: 4821006
Abstract: The dielectric resonator apparatus is characterized in that electric walls exist on one plane or two including the central axis of the electromagnetic field distribution in the using mode of a dielectric resonator, a dielectric resonator with either of dielectrics between the electric wall being removed in shape is provided by plurality, an equivalent axis is common to the central axis of each of the dielectric resonators, with the dielectric resonators being inductively coupled in the axial direction. A dielectric resonator which prevents the current from being concentrated on the central axis of the electromagnetic field distribution, is collectively smaller in the Joule loss and is higher in Q. The dielectric resonator of the present invention is characterized in that the dielectric close to the central axis is removed, wherein electric walls exist on one plane or two including the central axis of the electromagnetic field distribution in a dielectric resonator using, for instance, a TE.sub.01.delta.
