  • Publication number: 20100129097
Abstract: In order to prolong life of a charger, there is provided an image forming device including a photosensitive member, a charger, an exposing unit, a developing unit and a control unit. The charger charges the photosensitive member at a charging position, and the exposing unit exposes the photosensitive member to light and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member. The developing unit develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive member at a developing position, the developing unit having a developing member that carries thereon developer charged to a polarity, the developing member having a surface potential.

  • Patent number: 7643771
Abstract: A developer cartridge includes a casing, a developing roller, a sheet member, and a plurality of seal members. The casing accommodates developer and is formed with an opening for communicating inside of the casing with outside thereof. The developing roller is disposed on the opening and is rotatably supported on the casing. The sheet member is disposed between the casing and the developing roller. The plurality of seal members is attached to the sheet member in order to prevent the developer from leaking through the opening.

  • Patent number: 7526225
Abstract: The blade back seal, which integrally comprises the side portions extending in the vertical direction at the longitudinal end portions of the leaf spring member and the connecting portion for connecting the side portions at the longitudinal center portion of the leaf spring member, is interposed between the leaf spring member of the blade unit and the front attachment portion of the blade attachment member. At the opening of the case, the upper seal is interposed between the plate-like upper attachment portion, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the opening and has a width in the anteroposterior direction, and the extended portion of the bend preventing member of the blade unit, for sealing the space there between.

  • Patent number: 7450879
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided which includes a rotating image carrier including a central portion and tip portions, and a rotating developing element for contacting the rotating image carrier and applying a developer to a latent image, wherein an axial direction is parallel to an axial direction of the rotating image carrier, and the element includes tip portions at ends in the axial direction. Also, the apparatus includes a member for removing dust from the central portion of the rotating image carrier, a width of the member being less than a width of the rotating developing element and a width of the rotating image carrier in the axial direction of the rotating image carrier, and a dust collector for collecting dust removed by the member, and having a width greater than the width of the rotating developing element in the axial direction of the rotating image carrier.

  • Publication number: 20070196135
Abstract: An agitator includes a film formed with one or more slits. The film may be partitioned into two or more areas by the slits, substantially equally in an axial direction of a rotating shaft of the film. In both ends of a film holding member, supporting plates may be disposed at positions facing outer ends of both end areas of the film with respect to the axial direction. With this structure, during rotation of the agitator, greater stress may be produced in the outer end of each end area than in an inner end of each end area and a center area in its entirety. Thus, a component applied in a direction along the rotating shaft may be applied to a direction in which developer is fed, so that an adequate amount of developer may be supplied.

  • Patent number: 7239824
Abstract: A toner receiving member, which is open upward, is provided at a position vertically below a lower end of a contact surface between a side seal member and a developing roller. The toner receiving member can receive and store toner which has leaked. In addition, when a developing cartridge is removed from a main body casing and then placed on a horizontal surface such as a desktop, a front wall, which serves as a bottom surface of the toner receiving member, faces upward. Toner collected in the toner receiving member may be prevented from leaking.
