  • Publication number: 20240125860
Abstract: The objective of the present invention is to provide a technology capable of estimating a battery condition in conjunction with charging/discharging operations of a battery, without employing dedicated equipment for estimating the condition of the battery. A battery management device according to the present invention identifies a first period and a subsequent second period in a rest period after a battery finishes discharging or charging, and uses an output voltage difference in the second period to estimate the condition of the battery (see FIG. 1).

  • Publication number: 20200309020
Abstract: An in-cylinder injection engine includes: a cylinder head that includes a gasket surface stacked on a seating face of a cylinder block and defines a combustion chamber between a piston and a ceiling surface gradually receding from an imaginary plane including the gasket surface in going toward a center of the cylinder head; two intake ports disposed side by side and opened in the ceiling surface of the cylinder head; and a fuel injection valve mounted to the cylinder head and having an injection port facing the combustion chamber at a position between an opening of the intake port and the gasket surface. The intake port is formed to have a shape of introducing an airflow laterally into the combustion chamber along the imaginary plane. Accordingly, the in-cylinder injection engine can reduce attachment of injected fuel to a wall surface of a cylinder bore.

  • Publication number: 20190376444
Abstract: An internal combustion engine is mounted on the saddle-riding vehicle. The engine includes: a cylinder head; a cylinder head cover; a fuel injection valve whose distal end is directed to a combustion chamber; a cam shaft; a fuel pump which feeds fuel due to an action of a cam which integrally rotates with the cam shaft; a fuel pump mounting member which is fixed to the cylinder head and on which the fuel pump is mounted; and a downstream side fuel pipe which feeds fuel from the fuel pump to the fuel injection valve and has flexibility. The above arrangement improves maintenance property by making a routing space of the fuel pipe compact by shortening the length of the fuel pipe while enhancing protection of the sides of the vehicle including the fuel pump.

  • Patent number: 7383811
Abstract: A fuel injection system for an engine is configured of a downstream-side fuel injection valve which is provided to an intake passage connected to a combustion chamber, and from which fuel in the intake passage is injected, and an upstream-side fuel injection valve which is provided in the intake passage upstream of the downstream-side fuel injection valve, and from which fuel in the intake passage is injected. In the fuel injection system, a fuel injection pressure applied to the upstream-side fuel injection valve is set at a higher value than a fuel injection pressure applied to the downstream-side fuel injection valve. Fuel is injected from both injection valves on fuel injection shares depending on a detected load on the engine.

  • Publication number: 20070227509
Abstract: An engine-mounted mechanical fuel pump for an internal combustion engine contributes to a stable operation of the engine, a reduction in the weight of the engine, and a reduction in the pump drive loss. The engine includes a cylinder head provided with intake ports and exhaust ports therein, and fuel injection valves for injecting fuel into the inside of a tubular intake air routing assembly connected to the intake ports. A fuel pump is provided on the rear side of a cylinder block and on the upper side of a crankcase, in an arrangement where the intake ports are formed to extend rearwardly and the exhaust ports are formed to extend forwardly from the cylinder head. In one embodiment, the fuel pump is provided on the front side of the cylinder block, where the intake ports are formed to extend forwardly and the exhaust ports are formed to extend rearwardly.

  • Patent number: 7263970
Abstract: An intake flow control apparatus for an internal combustion engine eases operation of an air flow regulator and permits use of a short intake passage, thus providing a high output. The intake flow control apparatus includes an air routing member having an intake passage formed therein, and an air flow regulator opposed to an upstream-side opening of the intake passage. The air flow regulator moves in an intake axis direction while being guided by a light-weight guide structure to control the amount of intake air supplied. The air flow regulator may include plural valve elements different in operation timing, in which a valve actuator successively actuates the plural valve elements in accordance with a throttle operation to control the amount of intake air. The apparatus also includes a vacuum moderating structure for reducing the effective strength of a vacuum applied to the air flow regulator.

  • Patent number: 7071822
Abstract: When an anomaly occurs in a monitor area, careless entry of the user into the monitor area is blocked reliably and simply. In a monitoring system for monitoring a house as a monitor area, sensors are placed at appropriate points in the house, and a door open hindrance unit for hindering opening of a front door placed at the entrance of the house is placed. Upon detection of an anomaly in the house based on a detection signal from each sensor, a management unit instructs the door open hindrance unit to hinder opening of the front door.
