    Abstract: According to an embodiment, a payment terminal operation system includes an information processing apparatus and a payment terminal provided in a store. The information processing apparatus acquires, from the payment terminal, setting information that specifies a totaling item for totaling sales of transactions within a predetermined period. Further, the information processing apparatus generates sales data obtained by totaling the sales in the store in which the payment terminal is provided, on the basis of the acquired setting information, and transmits the generated sales data to the payment terminal. The payment terminal provides the setting information held by itself to the information processing apparatus and outputs the sales data received from the information processing apparatus.

    Abstract: A nucleic acid amplification method using a solid-phase carrier according to the present invention comprises: capturing a target nucleic acid comprising mRNA on a solid-phase carrier; carrying out complementary-strand synthesis on the solid phase; carrying out exonuclease treatment to degrade and remove unreacted target- capturing nucleic acid on the solid phase; and then carrying out mRNA degradation and homopolymer addition by TdT reaction in the presence of a chain-terminating nucleotide triphosphate. According to the method of the present invention, cDNA can be stably and highly efficiently amplified even from a small amount of sample even in cases where the ratio of the amount of enzyme to the DNA substrate on the solid phase is excessive, where the reaction time is excessive, and/or where reagents show lot-to-lot variation.

    Abstract: A safety device of a lift for vehicles which has a stopper shaft and a rack to protect accidental fall of cradles of the lift during operations. The stopper shaft is pivoted at one end to an upper frame of the lift with sufficient flexibility for lateral movement, while another free end of the stopper shaft is kept at a resting position on an extension of the rack during the cradles being kept at the lowermost position. The rack is provided with a first guide comprising a vertical member disposed alongside the rack and a slightly inclined flat member under the rack, so that the free end of the stopper shaft moves over the rack without sheering off the course during rise of the cradles, and can be engaged with the rack when the cradles is stopped at a desired raised position. The rack is also provided with a passage for the free end having an inclined surface at one end near the resting position and a second guide mounted thereto to lead the free end on the extension of the rack.
