Abstract: An electric punch for automatically punching holes in documents and the like is provided that allows the spacing between the holes to be selectively set at either 70 mm (U.S. standard) or 80 mm (European and Japanese standard) by forming a bend midway of the length of operating arms of respective perforating members so that forward and rearward portions of the operating arms are laterally offset in parallel by a prescribed distance and clamping the operating arms with two supports of different width, thereby enabling the punched hole spacing to be selectively changed by exchanging the left and right perforating members.

Abstract: A safety device for a power tape cutter is provided to prevent accidents due to the power blade as far as possible. In the power tape cutter, which leads out adhesive tape through an outlet and cuts it to a required length using a power blade, a movable shutter, which inhibits a user's fingers from being inserted into the outlet, is disposed outside the power blade at the outlet. Due to the presence of a spring, the shutter naturally tends to close of its own accord. The movable shutter is provided with a retaining section which retains the movable shutter, locking it in an open position and unlocking it when a device driver responds to a signal to start cutting the adhesive tape. The movable shutter is also provided with a power blade drive switch which operates in conjunction with the movable shutter. When the shutter is substantially closed, the operation of the power blade drive switch causes the power blade to start to cut the adhesive tape.

Abstract: Described herein is an automatic stamper for imprinting desired letters or characters on documents, which is of the type including a printing block having a plural number of stamp units mounted around the circumference of a drum, a support frame rotatably and detachably supporting the printing block, and a base structure having a document support surface and supporting thereon the support frame movably for a reciprocal movement toward and away from the document support surface. The stamp units are detachably mounted on stamp support surfaces on and around the circumferences of the drum such that the longitudinal axes of the respective stamp units are disposed parallel with the axis of the drum for the sake of compact construction, while the support frame is automatically driven from an electric motor which is adapted to be closed upon setting a document on the document support surface.

Abstract: A reinforcing piece pasting an apparatus for pasting annular reinforcing piece around a binding which is punched before-hand on a document. The purpose of the invention is to provide a reinforcing piece pasting apparatus which, by a simple operation, enables one to feed a reinforcing piece to a prescribed position securely and one piece at a time, and to paste the reinforcing piece correctly around the binding hole.The reinforcing piece pasting apparatus in accordance with the present invention has a base, a frame, and a handle whose base end parts are combined pivotally so as to be turnable relative with each other and which are urged by springs in the direction to have their tip parts separated further away.

Abstract: A paper punch sends out a tape carrying a number of punched-hole reinforcing pieces by the length of a single reinforcing piece interlockingly with the motion of a handle that raises and lowers a punching rod, sticking the reinforcing piece in the desired position of a sheet of paper placed on a base and, then, cutting a binding hole through the paper and reinforcing piece stuck thereon. The improvement is such that an insertion hole is provided in the handle to loosely pass through a horizontal pin that is attached to the punching rod so that the punching rod is kept from descending to perform a punching operation while the carrying tape is let out by the length of a single reinforcing piece in the early stage of the descending stroke of the handle. A pressing mechanism is provided so that the reinforcing piece supplied from the carrying tape into the desired position on the paper is firmly pressed against the paper before the punching rod cuts a hole therethrough.
