Abstract: A vehicle has rear wheels each equipped with a rear tire having a tire characteristic which is different from that of front wheels, and which is suitable for one cornering condition, for example, a condition in which a lateral acceleation is high, and a steering system which steers the rear wheels so as to remedy the deficiency of the tires of the rear wheels in another cornering conditions.

Abstract: A MacPherson strut type suspension including a shock absorber operatively disposed between vehicle wheels and a vehicle body of a motor vehicle, the shock absorber having a piston rod; a coil spring disposed in association with the shock absorber to elastically support the vehicle body; a core member secured to an end of the piston rod of the shock absorber; an insulator rubber securely connected between the core member and the vehicle body; and a stop device for restricting the movement of the core member in the axial direction of the piston rod of the shock absorber when the axial movement of the piston rod exceeds a predetermined distance, thereby effectively damping high and low frequency vibrations applied to the suspension while prolonging the life of the insulator rubber.

Abstract: An exhaust line including an exhaust pipe assembly, a reactor for oxidizing hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, a main muffler and a mechanism for drawing secondary air from the atmosphere into the exhaust line upstream of the reactor based on the pulsation of the exhaust pressure, wherein a front tube of the exhaust pipe assembly for passing the exhaust gas from the engine to the reactor has a smaller cross-sectional area than a center tube connecting the reactor to the main muffler, so that the pulsation is of a great magnitude even at an engine speed where the pulsation is in an anti-resonance state.
