  • Patent number: 8471417
Abstract: An inverter input terminal, a coil terminal for a U-phase coil, and an inverter ground terminal are arranged in this order and neighboring to one another to form a U-phase terminal group. An inverter input terminal, a coil terminal for a V-phase coil, and the inverter ground terminal are arranged in this order and neighboring to one another to forma V-phase terminal group. The inverter input terminal, a coil terminal for a W-phase coil, and an inverter ground terminal are arranged in this order and neighboring to one another to form a W-phase terminal group. Flow directions of electric current in the neighboring terminals are opposite to each other, so that inductance of inverter circuits can be decreased.

  • Publication number: 20110043152
Abstract: A device for driving a motor includes inverters, an interrupter, and a controller. Each inverter includes supply systems. Each supply system includes a power source-side path branching from a power source, a power source-side semiconductor switch located in the power source-side path, a ground-side path branching from a ground, a ground-side semiconductor switch located in the ground-side path, and a motor-side path branching at a connection point between the power source-side path and the ground-side path to supply electric current to a corresponding phase of the motor. The controller controls the motor by controlling the inverters and determines whether the semiconductor switches in each inverter are short-circuited. The controller causes the interrupter to disconnect the supply systems in the inverter having the semiconductor switch that is determined to be short-circuited. The controller continues to control the motor by controlling the other inverter.
