    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a substrate processing method is disclosed. The method can include treating a substrate with a first liquid. The substrate has a structural body formed on a major surface of the substrate. The method can include forming a support member supporting the structural body by bringing a second liquid into contact with the substrate wetted by the first liquid, and changing at least a portion of the second liquid into a solid by carrying out at least one of causing the second liquid to react, reducing a quantity of a solvent included in the second liquid, and causing at least a portion of a substance dissolved in the second liquid to be separated. The method can include removing the support member by changing at least a part of the support member from a solid phase to a gaseous phase, without passing through a liquid phase.

    Abstract: A phenol resin-impregnated sheet formed by impregnating a porous resin sheet with a phenol resin having a degree of cure of from 70% to 95% is arranged on and lamininated to the surface of a carbon fiber-reinforced thermosetting resin sheet. The thickness of the phenol resin impregnated sheet is between 0.01 mm and 1.0 mm. A very even, strong and water-proof wood reinforcing material is obtained. The wood reinforcing material is intergrated and cured on the surface of the wood material by the phenol resin-impregnated sheet to reinforce wood material (single board or bonded board) to form a reinforced wood material. The wood reinforcing material adheres suitably with the wood material and does not cause environmental contamination.

    Abstract: The first group of the present invention is a wood reinforcing carbon fiber prepreg, which is produced through impregnation with a mixture resin at a viscosity of 3 to 150 poises at 20° C., wherein the mixture resin contains one or more resins selected from resorcinol based resins and resol type phenol based resins, formaldehydes as curing agents and inorganic acids or organic acids as curing catalysts. The first group of the present invention is a wood reinforcing carbon fiber prepreg having a longer usable time and being capable of imparting the rigidity and elastic modulus of carbon a fiber to the wood to be reinforced at a high ratio. The second group of the present invention is a wood reinforcing carbon fiber prepreg attached wood based sheet, wherein a wood based sheet of a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.06 mm is arranged on at least one face of a carbon fiber prepreg sheet produced through impregnation with a mixture resin containing a thermosetting resin and a curing agent or a curing catalyst.

    Abstract: A carbonaceous fiber having a carbon content of from 70 to 90%, a high tensile strength and a high modulus of elasticity, which is produced by a method which comprises preoxidizing an acrylic fiber in an oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature of from 10.degree. to 60.degree. C. below the decomposition point of said fiber, to prepare a preoxidized fiber having a degree of orientation of not less than 78% at an angle of X-ray diffraction (2.theta.) of 25.degree. and a specific gravity of from 1.30 to 1.40, pyrolyzing the preoxidized fiber in an inert gas atmosphere by passing the fiber firstly through a lower temperature zone having a temperature of not higher than 750.degree. C. and then through a higher temperature zone having a temperature of from 750.degree. to 950.degree. C., during the pyrolysis controlling the tension of the fiber so that the change of the fiber length during pyrolyzing is from +16% to -8.8% based on the length of the preoxidized fiber.

The sizing agent has excellent emulsion stability and heat stability, and it can impart excellent bundling properties to carbon fibers.
