  • Patent number: 11558515
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a paper feed tray capable of storing paper of predetermined regular sizes and a custom size; a paper size setter which receives a setting of a paper size; a display; a communicator; an image former; and a controller. When the paper size setter receives a setting of paper of the custom size, the controller determines whether a regular size substantially the same as the custom size is found. When the regular size being substantially the same is found, the display displays a setting screen, and the paper size setter receives a preference setting selected from the custom size and the regular size being substantially the same. When an image formation command is received, the controller controls the image former based on the setting of the paper size and the preference setting to form an image on the paper of the selected size.

  • Patent number: 8270019
Abstract: The present invention includes an offset processing section that performs offset processing for shifting a sheet to be outputted in a sheet width direction, a banner output section that prints a job attribute of a print job on a sheet, a job attribute determination section that determines the job attribute of the print job, and a control section that sets offset processing or banner output in the unit of a job attribute or in the unit of a job. When a job attribute of a preceding print job and a job attribute of a subsequent print job are different, offset processing and banner output are executed. When the job attribute of the preceding print job and the job attribute of the subsequent print job are the same, any one of offset processing and banner output is executed. Thereby, printed sheets can be easily obtained in the unit of a job attribute such as in the unit of a user.

  • Patent number: 8081325
Abstract: When sample printing is executed, whether the printing is executed putting higher priority on the printing speed than the image quality based on printing data of each page or the printing is executed putting higher priority on the image quality than the printing speed is automatically judged and the sample printing is executed based on the judgment result. When the sample printing is executed, for each page, an image quality priority degree judging portion 14a judges whether the printing is executed in a speed priority printing scheme that puts higher priority on the printing speed than the image quality in printing or the printing is executed in an image quality priority printing scheme that puts higher priority on the image quality than the printing speed in printing, a printing scheme switching portion 14b automatically switches the printing scheme according to the judgment result, and the sample printing is executed.

  • Publication number: 20060092464
Abstract: A printing apparatus that can reduce a burden on the user when printing related jobs is provided. A job queue stores a plurality of received print jobs, and the received print jobs are printed by a print portion. A job status notification processing portion notifies an information terminal apparatus which sent the print jobs, of the status of output of the print jobs. In the case of notifying the information terminal apparatus of the status of the print jobs determined to be the related jobs by a related job determining portion, the information terminal apparatus which sent the print job is notified of that the print jobs are the related jobs.

  • Patent number: 5689755
Abstract: In the distribution copy mode, when plural sets of copies are selected, a copying machine C1 of a transmitting end checks the status of copying machines C2 and C3 being connected through a communication line based on status information data. As a result of this check, if both of the copying machines C2 and C3 are set in the idle state, the number of copies specifying data and the image data are transmitted to be distributed to each copying machine. In the described arrangement, since one copy job can be divided to be distributed to plural copying machines, an improved productivity of copy operation and more effective use of the copying machines can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5608493
Abstract: An image forming apparatus outputs an operation setting paper sheet (Op-sheet) having printed thereon an operation setting image (template) stored in a data ROM upon operating an operation setting paper sheet output key (OPS key). The image forming apparatus reads the operation setting image on the operation setting paper sheet by a scanner, and sets an operational mode according to selection items in the read image, thereby performing an image forming operation according to the operational mode. By producing a print output of the operation setting image, the operation setting paper sheet in the original form without having a deterioration of the image quality or displacement can be provided with the unique image quality of this image forming apparatus which enables the image to be surely read by the image forming apparatus.
