  • Patent number: 6499051
Abstract: An information transmission method and device for preventing a client from getting an impression that they are being kept waiting for a response, even when the go response contains a large amount of data. A search request is made from an information communication system of a vehicle, an information providing center receives the request, and searches a database to obtain a search result. If the search result contains data of more than one data type such as texts and images, a data group is formed for each data type and the amount of data for each data group is calculated. Transmission order is determined by arranging the data groups in an ascending order of data amount from smallest to largest. The transmission order is further determined for each data group by arranging data in an ascending order from smallest to largest, and data is transmitted to the vehicle in this order.

  • Patent number: 6498431
Abstract: In a display panel, the luminance and contrast are improved by making a partition semitransparent, which is a constituent element adjacent to a light-emitting section. A visible light incident on the partition proceeds inside the partition while being attenuated at a constant rate. When an external light incident on the partition from the front side is reflected off the bottom surface of the partition and returns to the front side again, the external light reciprocates inside the partition. Since the external light is largely attenuated by the reciprocation, the partition seemingly functions as an optical absorber with respect to the external light. A light emitted by the light-emitting section can transmit through the partition and radiate to the outside from the front side.

  • Patent number: 6498519
Abstract: A voltage control circuit for implementing, e.g., the CPS function in which a high-accuracy comparison is performed between a high external voltage and a reference voltage. A diode-connected transistor converts the external voltage to a voltage lower than the external voltage in conjunction with an external voltage dropping resistor. A comparator compares the converted voltage with a specified comparison voltage. The size of the transistor is determined such that the ratio of an increment of the converted voltage to an increment of the external voltage is sufficiently high in a comparison region in which the external voltage is close to the reference voltage. A clamping circuit clamps the converted voltage with a specified limit voltage such that the converted voltage does not exceed the withstand voltage of the circuit.

  • Publication number: 20020190765
Abstract: A control signal that runs a control oscillator of a signal generation circuit that generates a write clock is taken as a reference signal. That reference signal is supplied to a signal generation circuit that generates a read clock. In the signal generation circuit that generates the read clock, there is no need to generate a reference signal within its own circuits, which makes it possible to supply it to a control oscillator by adding the error timing from reading out the signal against the supplied reference signal. In this way, no means for locking the read clock into the initial frequency is needed and neither is the time for locking the read clock to the initial frequency (lock up time). This makes it possible to reduce the size of the circuit and to reduce the signal read-out time.
