  • Patent number: 6349256
Abstract: The turning behavior state of a vehicle is determined by a determining device, by comparing a front wheel slip angle and a rear wheel slip angle calculated based on a lateral slip angle of a vehicle body by a wheel slip angle calculating device, with a front wheel slip angle limit value and a rear wheel slip angle limit value which are determined based on a vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed detecting device and a friction coefficient presumed by a friction coefficient presuming device. Thus, even in a state in which the road surface friction coefficient is low, the turning behavior state of the vehicle can be detected precisely.

  • Patent number: 6348735
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an electrode wiring structure for semiconductor devices that can suppress the occurrence of Al voids inside aluminum alloy wiring without regard to the orientation of such aluminum alloy wiring. An interlayer insulator film 11, a titanium layer 12, a titanium nitride layer 13 that serves as the barrier layer, an aluminum alloy wiring layer 15 and a protective film 18 are formed on top of the silicon substrate 10 to compose the electrode structure. In this case, a distortion relaxation layer 14, with a film thickness of approximately over 10 nm and which is an intermetallic compound that includes aluminum and titanium in its composition, is formed in between the titanium nitride layer 13 and the aluminum alloy wiring layer 15. Because of this distortion relaxation layer, for every wiring width of 1 &mgr;m, the number of Al voids with widths of over 0.3 &mgr;m is practically reduced to 0.

  • Publication number: 20020019202
Abstract: A two-step method for chemical mechanical polishing of a semiconductor substrate having successive layers, comprised of, a metal layer, an underlying barrier film and an underlying dielectric layer. The first polishing step is performed utilizing a slurry composition selective to the metal in the metal layer, to remove the metal at a high removal rate during polishing, and the second polishing step is performed utilizing a slurry composition selective to the barrier film and least selective to the metal layer and the underlying dielectric layer. In an alternate embodiment, the second polishing step is performed with a slurry equally selective to the barrier layer and the underlying dielectric layer and least selective to the metal of the metal layer, to remove the barrier layer at a high removal rate during polishing, and level a surface of the dielectric layer to the surface of the metal interconnection structure in the underlying dielectric layer.

  • Publication number: 20020018590
Abstract: There is disclosed an image processing apparatus in which an optimum characteristic amount for use in an image processing can constantly correctly be extracted from an object image, an optimum image processing can therefore be performed, and a satisfactory image can be outputted. To achieve this, a first extraction section limits a predetermined area from the object image (X-ray image), and extracts a first characteristic amount from the predetermined area. A second extraction section extracts a second characteristic amount from a fixed area of the object image. A selection section selects a characteristic amount for use in a gray scale conversion processing from the first and second characteristic amounts based on a result of comparison of a difference between the first characteristic amount and the second characteristic amount with a predetermined threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20020018253
Abstract: In the multilayer volume hologram 1 of the invention, the adhesive layer 5, volume hologram 6 and surface protective film 7 are laminated on the application member 2 in this order, and the breaking strength of the hologram layer should be larger than the peel strength between the surface protective film and the volume hologram layer and smaller than the peel strength with which the hologram layer is peeled off the application member and the breaking strength of the surface protective film. This multilayer volume hologram provides a more improved protection for the volume hologram. A portrait replacement or falsification of an information area ensures that the volume hologram layer can break down. Thus, more reliable counterfeit-proofness is achievable.

  • Publication number: 20020018404
Abstract: A magneto-optical recording medium 11 is irradiated with a reproducing light beam 13 so that only a minute magnetic domain 313b, which is subjected to recording in a recording layer 18 and which is smaller than ½ of a spot radius of the recording light beam 13, is selected by a gate layer 17 and transferred to a magnetic domain magnifying and reproducing layer 3. The magnetic domain transferred to the magnetic domain-magnifying and reproducing layer 3 is magnified by using a magnifying and reproducing magnetic field 411 of an alternating magnetic field. A large reproduction signal is obtained from the magnified magnetic domain 419, and the minute magnetic domain can be subjected to reproduction at a high resolving power and at a high SIN ratio. The magnified magnetic domain 419 is reduced by using a reducing reproducing magnetic field 415 of the alternating magnetic field. The gate layer 17 has a thickness which is not less than a thickness of a magnetic wall of the magnetic domain.
