    Abstract: A wire bending apparatus includes both a robot provided with a device for gripping and rotating a wire, and a suitable number of program-controlled benders. The robot grips a wire and supplies a portion of the wire to be bent to the program-controlled benders. The robot is rotated through a predetermined angle while gripping the wire according to a direction in which a next portion of the wire is to be bent, after which the wire is supplied to the program-controlled bender to bend the wire such that the wire is ultimately bent into a predetermined shape.

    Abstract: A circuit for inversely converting the signal of six bits converted by the 5B6B coding rule conversion method in the digital transmission into the original signal of five bits is described. On the occasion of inversely converting the 6-bit signal to the original 5-bit signal, the mark rate of the 6-bit signal to be converted inversely is detected in accordance with the 5B6B coding rule conversion pattern. In this case, all patterns of six bits are not detected but such six bits are divided into the upper three bits and lower three bits and the mark rates of six bits are detected from the patterns of upper three bits and lower three bits. Thereby, a number of detected patterns can be reduced and simplification of circuit structure can also be realized.

    Abstract: A compressed sheet comprises: base fibers constituted by inorganic fibers other than asbestos, or organic fibers, or a combination of both; a rubber; rubber chemicals; and fillers. In the compressed sheet a material with both smoothing and reinforcing effects is exposed at least to one of the surfaces of the compressed sheet. A method of manufacturing a compressed sheet comprises the steps of processing a composition for forming the compressed sheet by feeding it into a pair of rolls comprising a hot roll and a cold roll, thereby laminating the composition into a sheet-shaped material on the hot roll, and then peeling off the sheet-shaped laminated material. In this method the composition is fed into the rolls such that a material with both smoothing and reinforcing effects is exposed at least to that surface of the sheet-shaped laminated material which faces the cold roll.

    Abstract: A MOS semiconductor device with a double-layer gate electrode structure includes a silicon substrate and a field oxide layer which is selectively formed on one major surface of the substrate in such a manner as to surround an active region. A polycrystalline silicon layer is provided on the first silicon layer and in a portion which extends from the region of the gate electrode to above the field oxide layer. Source and drain diffusion regions are defined in a part of the active region of the major surface of the substrate. An impurity-doped second silicon oxide layer is deposited on the entire surface of a laminate which is constituted by the substrate to the source and drain diffusion regions except for the surface of that portion of the polycrystalline silicon layer which overlies the field oxide layer.

    Abstract: In a high speed logic circuit using a vertical hetero-junction bipolar transistor, in which two-dimensional carriers formed at a semiconductor hetero-junction interface are used as a base layer, the uppermost layer being a collector layer, the lowest layer being an emitter layer, two base electrodes making contact with the base layer are disposed so as to put a collector electrode, which is electrically in contact with the collector layer, therebetween. The base electrodes are used at the same time as a source electrode and a drain electrode, respectively, of a field effect transistor using the two-dimensional carriers as an active layer. The high speed logic circuit is so constructed that one of the base electrodes of the bipolar transistor is an input terminal; the other is connected with a power supply; the emitter is grounded; and the collector is an output terminal.

    Abstract: A shaped chitin body containing a high content of a physiologically active substance, such as a drug to be used for the cure or prevention of disease, is prepared by incorporating said physiologically active substance into a dope comprising (a) a water-insoluble chitin, (b) lithium chloride, and (c) N-methylpyrrolidone and/or dimethylacetamide, with the amount of said physiologically active substance incorporated being 0.5 wt. % or more with respect to the amount of the chitin contained in said dope, and thereafter coagulating the resulting mixture with a coagulant to obtain a shaped body.The high content of the physiologically active substance thus incorporated in the shaped chitin can be slowly released therefrom over a long period of time. The shaped-chitin of the present invention is characterized by long duration of the physiological activity of the active substance contained therein.

In the image sensor, the control wires are laid out crossing the signal transfer wires with an interlayer insulating film layered therebetween, and at least one dummy control wire is laid out crossing the signal transfer wires through the interlayer insulating film. A pulse is applied to the dummy control wire before gate pulses are applied to the control wires.

    Abstract: In a dynamic random access memory including a plurality of memory read circuit arrays, a sense amplifier has a circuit wherein a first switch (or a pair of first switches) and a pair of second switches connected in series to the first switch are connected between the common data lines and the common source line of a second precharger. The first switch is controlled according to the potential of the bit lines precharged by a first precharger, while the second switches are controlled according to the address signal. Further, a third switch is provided to connect the common source line to an activation potential for the common source line in the memory array not selected. A second precharger precharges the common source line in a memory array not selected to a second precharge potential and the common data lines in a memory array not selected to a third precharge potential during the time when the common source line and the common data lines are not selected.

    Abstract: A noise absorber provided with a fixture disposed at a flank of a body, thereby improving the positionability of the noise absorber and easy access thereto for handling. The body and the fixture are integrally connected by engaging a first engaging portion provided on the body with a second engaging portion on the fixture. When the body and the fixture are connected, the bottom of the body and the bottom surface of the fixture are at the same height, thereby coordinately supporting the noise absorber on a chassis or a printed board. Since the fixture is provided at the flank of the body on the same level, the height of the noise absorber as a whole is reduced. The noise absorber is thus advantageous for positioning in a location with limited space. Moreover, since the fixture to be handled is positioned at the flank of the body for easy access, the noise absorber of this invention can be easily fitted or disassembled.

    Abstract: A process for separating an electrodeposited metal from a cathode plate in electrolytic refining is disclosed. The cathode plate on which the metal is electrodeposited is first held. Then, heated air is blown toward the cathode plate and the electrodeposited metal thereon. As a result, the electrodeposited metal is separated from the cathode plate. An apparatus for carrying out the same process is also disclosed. The apparatus includes a separating furnace, a holding assembly, and a device for introducing heated air into the separating furnace. The holding assembly is attached to the separating furnace for holding the cathode plate in the furnace. The heated air-introducing device introduces heated air, blowing it against the cathode plate, whereby the electrodeposited metal is separated from the cathode plate.
