  • Publication number: 20030145713
Abstract: A music performance data signal contains tone effect control messages to control the tone signal processor for imparting tone effects to the produced musical tones in a high-ranked model of tone producing apparatus in which many and complicated tone effects are available. In order that such a music performance signal can drive a low-ranked model of tone producing apparatus in which a small number of and simple tone effect are available, the tone effect control messages for the high-ranked model are converted to tone effect control messages which can realize similar tone effects as on the high-ranked model. For the tone effects not directly available in the low-ranked model, the tone effect control messages are converted with reference to conversion tables.

  • Publication number: 20020168176
Abstract: A motion-picture time scale control instruction system includes a dedicated RAM for storing motion-picture data. In a certain mode, during playback of motion-picture data, the CPU outputs to the time-scale control section a time-scale control signal corresponding to a tempo of a piece of music output from a tempo detection mechanism. The time-scale control section adjusts the playback speed of motion-picture data in accordance with the time-scale control signal. The motion-picture playback section reads the motion-picture data from the dedicated RAM while increasing and decreasing the read-out time for each unit of data in accordance with the adjusted playback speed and outputs the read motion-picture data to the display. In another mode, timing set information for synchronizing the playback timing of a specific frame of motion-picture data with a specific music performance timing are provided.

  • Publication number: 20020118302
Abstract: Video picture signals are received via at least three channels. At least three control instructing operators are provided in correspondence with the channels. Each control instructing operator is operable to give a signal control instruction for the corresponding channel in accordance with an operated amount of the operator. Controller performs signal control on the video picture signals of the channels on the basis of the respective signal control instructions given via the control instructing operators. Synthesizer synthesizes the video picture signals of the channels having been subjected to the signal control by the controller. Video picture signals of two desired channels are designated, and a contact-type operator gives signal control instructions, corresponding to a predetermined position of the operator contacted by a human operator, with respect to the video picture signals of the designated two channels.

  • Patent number: 6121529
Abstract: An information input apparatus comprises a casing which is held by an operator by opposite end portions thereof. At least one selection operating element is arranged on the front surface of the casing at a location close to one end thereof for selecting a kind of data to be input. At least one value-input operating element is arranged in the front surface of the casing at a location close to another end thereof, for inputting a value of the kind of data selected by the selection operating element. The value of the selected kind of data input is stored. The selection operating element is inclined relative to an edge of the one end of the casing, and the value-input operating element is inclined relative to an edge of the another end of the casing. The apparatus is compact and provides efficient inputting of information such as performance data for an electronic musical instrument.

  • Patent number: 5864081
Abstract: A musical tone generating apparatus is provided that generates a musical tone of a selected one of tone colors that is defined by a combination of a first kind of number and a second kind of number. An operating element used for setting a tone color and having an incrementing function and a decrementing function is operated to set at least the second kind of number by using at least one of the incrementing function and decrementing function.

  • Patent number: 5804754
Abstract: A music apparatus is provided with a memory device that stores waveform data, and a sound device that has a plurality of tone generating channels, each of which is tuned in normal setting effective to process the waveform data retrieved from the memory device so as to generate a musical sound. An input device is placed in either of an active state for inputting external waveform data and an inactive state where the external waveform data is not inputted. A detector device is provided to produces a detection signal when the input device switches between the active state and the inactive state.

  • Patent number: 5608178
Abstract: A series of the performance data is stored in one or more blocks composing a memory block chain of a memory. The performance order of the blocks is specified by management information stored in a table. For data-inserting editing, any of the blocks available in the memory is secured as an additional block, and the management information stored in the table is rewritten in such a manner that the additional block is connected next to a specific block corresponding to a desired inserting position in the memory block chain. The performance data stored in the specific block corresponding to the desired inserting position is divided into a preceding data group located before the inserting position and into a succeeding data group located after the inserting position, and the succeeding data group is copied into the additional block.

  • Patent number: 5563360
Abstract: An automatic performance apparatus able to freely specify any two points A and B during the ALL repeat automatic performance. When the specified point A is closer to the start of the tune sequence being repeated than the point B, the apparatus repeats the performance between the two points A and B. When point B is closer to the start of the tune sequence, the performance skips from point B to point A.

  • Patent number: 5532425
Abstract: Data is set which instructs initiation of a phrase performance at a predetermined timing (beat) during a main automatic performance. When a switch for instructing execution of the phrase performance is operated during the main performance, such a control is performed to cause the phrase performance to start at the predetermined timing. Phrase performance instructing data is also prestored between main performance data. When the phrase performance instructing data is read out during the main performance, phrase performance data is read out from a phrase performance data memory in response to readout of the instructing data, so that the phrase performance is executed.

  • Patent number: 5386081
Abstract: Automatic performance data for plural music pieces is stored in a memory. An order setting circuit for setting the order of automatically performing these music pieces is provided. The automatic performance data is read out in accordance with the order of performance set by the order setting circuit, whereby the plural music pieces are successively performed. By operating an instruction switch during performance of a certain music piece, a control is made in response to this instruction to stop the performance of the music piece which is being played and shift to performance of a next music piece in accordance with the set order of performance. The music which is being played may be stopped at a position at which the pattern, measure or other predetermined performance section ends. The order of performance may be previously determined or may be set at random.
