  • Patent number: 8411300
Abstract: In a workflow execution system, work control information for executing a work assigned to one of a plurality of image processing apparatuses connected to a network; workflow execution information indicating which works of a workflow have been executed; and information indicating an image processing apparatus on the next tier, are stored in a portable recording medium. When the work is executed by a proxy image processing apparatus, it is judged from the information stored in the portable recording medium whether or not the work can be executed by the proxy image processing apparatus, and if it can be executed, the work is executed based on the information stored in the portable recording medium. When proxy execution of the work is completed, workflow execution information including the execution result and image information are stored in the portable recording medium and transmitted to the image processing apparatus on the next tier.

  • Publication number: 20120233537
Abstract: An image forming apparatus accesses a server that provides a Web application to enable Web application to be utilized. The image forming apparatus receives an instruction to utilize the Web application, and acquires a document expressing a Web page of the Web application in response to the received instruction. The image forming apparatus determines whether a previously-set fixed name is included in a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) included in the acquired document. When it is determined that the fixed name is included in the URI, the image forming apparatus acquires data correlating to the URI from a predetermined location previously correlated to the fixed name. Using the acquired data, the image forming apparatus generates a display screen of the Web application based on the document.

  • Publication number: 20120206757
Abstract: An image forming apparatus registers a Web application provided by a server. When receiving an instruction to select the registered Web application, the image forming apparatus acquires information for performing the Web application in response to the received selection instruction, and stores the information as cache information. When receiving an instruction to cancel the registration of the Web application, the image forming apparatus cancels the registration of the Web application in response to the received instruction, and deletes the cache information corresponding to the Web application in which the registration is cancelled in the stored pieces of cache information.

  • Publication number: 20120156087
Abstract: This invention aims to provide a recycled magnesium alloy having a good corrosion resistance and a process for producing the same. The process of the present invention comprises an adjusting step of adjusting composition of molten metal of a magnesium alloy so as to comprise, by mass: Al: 5 to 10%, Zn: not less than 1% and not less than three times of Cu content (%), Mn: 0.1 to 1.5% and the remainder: Mg and impurities with or without one or more reforming elements. While the upper limit of the Al content is restricted to a low level, the Zn content is increased in accordance with the Cu content. Therefore, the recycled magnesium alloy produced by this process can effectively suppress corrosion caused by Cu, which is one of corrosion-causing elements.

  • Patent number: 7949770
Abstract: A data management server that can prevent data stored in a user's folder on the server from being used by others when the user is not working, even in a client-server network environment. The data management server that manages data that can be used by multiple terminal devices, and constitutes a storage device in which separate storage areas are allocated for each user. A determination unit determines which of the terminal devices is in a state in which it is able to access the data management server. When a terminal device issues a request to access a separate storage area of the storage device, if it is determined by the determination unit that the terminal device of a user associated with the separate storage area is in a state in which it can access the data management server, an access management unit permits the requesting terminal device to access the data stored in the separate storage area.

  • Patent number: 7945588
Abstract: When a user logs in to an MFP and inserts a medium, a serial number of the medium is stored in a device information database in correspondence with user information of the user, and a descramble key, e.g., a hash code of the serial number is registered in the user information. When the medium is removed from the MFP which is still logged in, the registration is deleted. When the MFP into which the medium is still inserted is logged out, no registration is deleted. When the user logs in to the MFP into which the medium is already inserted, the MFP determines whether a descramble key is registered in user information of the user. When a second user logs in to an MFP from which a first user had logged out while forgetting to remove a medium, the MFP prohibits the second user from accessing the medium because no descramble key is registered in user information of the second user.

  • Publication number: 20080304660
Abstract: An MFP 1 reads file information and directory information from a mounted medium to calculate a hash value, and encrypts the hash value and a user name of a user logged thereinto to create an authentication key. The authentication key and network information of the MFP 1 are written to the medium, and the hash value is retained in MFP 1 in association with the user name. An MFP 2 reads the above-described information from the mounted medium, and transmits to the MFP 1 the authentication key and a hash value calculated from the file information and the directory information of the medium, to thereby request authentication. Based on a user name obtained by decoding the authentication key, the MFP 1 compares the hash value retained in association with the user name and the hash value transmitted from the MFP 2, and authenticates the user's usage of the MFP 2.
