  • Patent number: 6533091
Abstract: Spline teeth 66 formed in the inner periphery of a sleeve 45 slidably supported on a hub 63 fixed to a rotation shaft each comprise a projecting portion 66a constituted by a first inclined surface &agr;, a flat surface &ggr; and a second inclined surface &bgr;, and these projecting portions 66a bias a blocking ring via a synchro-spring 71 in an axial direction to thereby generte a synchronizing load between the sleeve 45 and a gear 37. Immediately before the projecting portions 66a of the spline teeth 66 of the sleeve 45 moving rightward mesh with dog teeth 37a of the gear 37, the second inclined surfaces &bgr; of the projecting portions 66a move and ride on the synchro-spring 71 so as to gradually reduce a pressing force axially applied to the blocking ring 67, thereby making it possible to provide a smooth mesh engagement between the spline teeth 66 of the sleeve 45 and the dog teeth 37a of the gear 37.

  • Publication number: 20020107579
Abstract: A nasolacrimal stent device illuminates a dark nasal cavity so that the interior of the nasal cavity can be directly observed to facilitate and ensure the correct insertion of a nasolacrimal stent into the nasal duct. Flexible, transparent probe tube segments (21) are connected to the opposite ends of a flexible detention tube segment (2) having a diameter that permits the flexible detention tube segment (2) to be inserted in a lacrimal passage, respectively. The respective extremities of distal end parts (21a, 21b) of the probe tube segments (21) are closed. The probe tube segments (21) are provided in their base end parts with openings (23), respectively. When inserting each probe tube segment (21) into the nasal cavity, an illuminating device, such as an optical fiber (30) is inserted through the opening (23) into the probe tube segment (21) to illuminate the interior of the nasal cavity through the transparent probe tube segment (21).

  • Patent number: 6422107
Abstract: A transmission breather system is provided in which a subassembly is formed by supporting a shift select shaft, moving in the axial direction according to a select operation of a shift lever, and a select spring, maintaining the shift select shaft in a neutral position, on a cover member. Moreover, a breather chamber is formed between the cover member and an indentation of a transmission case by inserting the shift select shaft into an opening formed on the bottom wall of the indentation of the transmission case to connect the cover member to the transmission case, and the select spring is housed in the breather chamber. Thus, with regard to the transmission breather system, it is possible to form a breather chamber whose maintenance is easy while avoiding an increase in the size of the transmission case.

  • Patent number: 6319559
Abstract: Method and system for applying an adhesive agent to a covering material in the process of bonding the covering material to a foam cushion member to produce a bonded unit forming a seat. As a base material of the adhesive agent, only a primary component material and secondary curing agent are used, without any organic solvent added in the primary component material. Heat of a predetermined temperature is continuously applied to the primary component material by heating elements so as to retain its lowered viscosity through a whole fluid passage from a storage point to a spray gun, so that the heated primary component material in a fluid state may be injected from the spray gun, while being mixed with the curing agent in the air at the same time, thereby applying a properly atomized state of the mixture, as an adhesive agent, to the covering material.

  • Patent number: 4972931
Abstract: A viscous coupling has a casing having a fluid chamber defined therein, and a plurality of first plates and a plurality of second plates, the first and second plates being rotatable about a common axis and disposed in the fluid chamber. The first and second plates drivingly interconnect the casing and at leest one rotatable member. A viscous fluid introduced into the fluid chamber through an inlet port defined in one end wall of the casing flows circumferentially in and along an annular groove defined in an inner surface of the end wall. Each of the first and second plates has a plurality of holes defined therein and spaced circumferentially thereof. The viscous fluid flows through these holes into spaces between adjacent ones of the first and second plates. The other end wall of the casing has an air vent hole defined therein which allows air to escape from the fluid chamber when the viscous fluid is charged into the fluid chamber.
