  • Patent number: 8436841
Abstract: A display apparatus includes data lines, scanning lines arranged to cross the data lines, and pixel circuits aligning along the data lines and the scanning lines, such that one of the pixel circuits corresponds to each intersection between the data lines and the scanning lines. In addition, image signal lines transmit image signals, and switches connect the data lines to the image signal lines so that each of the data lines is connected to one of the image signal lines. The data lines are arranged such that adjacent data lines form a pair of data lines, and adjacent pairs of data lines are spaced apart from each other by two columns of pixel-circuits. Respective data lines of the pair of data lines are connected by the switches to two different image signal lines, and the switches connecting the pair of data lines to corresponding image signal lines are activated simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 7364272
Abstract: A printing head which outputs an output from a sensor device provided for monitoring various condition of a printing head as digital data, and a printing apparatus using the printing head. The output from the device for detecting condition of the printing head, e.g., information indicative of a substrate temperature, a resistance value of an electrothermal transducer, an ON resistance value of a power transistor which drives the electrothermal transducer and the like is digitized on the substrate, and outputted as digital information to the outside. Further, the digital information is outputted by utilizing a clock signal and a latch signal used for transferring print data to the printing head. This does not increase the number of wires and the area of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6860576
Abstract: Power consumed by a resistor connected between a first power supply and a drive control circuit is controlled by a power driving circuit connected to a second power supply. When the value of current that flows into the resistor fluctuates, the value of current output from power driving circuit to a control terminal of the drive control circuit is controlled in such a manner that power consumed is the same as that when the resistance value of the resistor is a set value. As a result, the value of power consumed by the resistor is rendered substantially constant without being influenced by a variation in the resistance value of the driven resistor or by the power supply voltage. If such a drive circuit is used in driving the printhead of a printing apparatus, stabilized drive can be achieved with the minimum margin, power consumption can be suppressed and the lifetime of the printhead can be prolonged.

  • Patent number: RE44825
Abstract: The present invention is directed to resolve the noise problem with the ink in an ink jet head without changing the substrate manufacturing process for the ink jet head, that is, increasing the cost on the manufacture, and without needs of disposing a noise countermeasure component on the side of the printer main device, or making the design change for the countermeasure. The present invention is characterized in that to prevent malfunction from arising by the noise, a hysteresis circuit to provide different input data threshold values upon rising and falling is provided on an input portion of the signal for a drive control logic system such as a drive input signal for a shift register and a latch circuit on the same substrate as that of the heating elements, the driver and the drive control logic circuit, utilizing a diffusion layer constituting a driver.
