  • Patent number: 6254995
Abstract: A material having a substrate and a coating formed on the surface of the substrate, in which the coating contains a resin swellable with water such as an acrylic copolymer, and a water-soluble compound such as polyethylene glycol. When such a coating is formed on the surface of a material such as an office automation sheet, inks and other deposits can be easily removed with water from the surface, and the office automation sheet can be repeatedly used. Thus, such a coating is useful for reserving resources and protecting environments. Furthermore, dirts can be easily removed from furniture, electric appliances, and the like.

  • Patent number: 5862011
Abstract: A magnetic disk device has a large capacity with a small and thin structure and includes a spindle system, an actuator system, a control package for controlling the systems, and a PCMCIA connector. The spindle system is of an in-hub structure wherein two magnetic disks are rotated in inside diameter portions of the magnetic disks. The actuator system has sliders mounting magnetic heads for writing and reading magnetic information to and from the magnetic disks, guide arms and suspension structures. The suspension structures also include a coil, a magnetic circuit for imparting a drive force in cooperation with the coil, a coil holder for supporting the coil, a pivot sleeve for rocking the guide arms, the coil holder and spacers which are integrally laminated to each other, bearings and a pivot shaft. The PCMCIA connector connects to the control package and is fixed by the housing and a package cover.

  • Patent number: 5471986
Abstract: A method of angiography which reduces the patient's burden due to the surgery. By replacing catheters and by means of brachial paracentesis, angiography is performed on each of coronary artery, vein bypass, gastroepiploic artery and internal thoracic artery, through the steps of: puncturing a paracentetic tube into the brachial artery, and inserting through the tube a catheter selected from the following group: (a) a catheter of the type in use for the left and right coronary artery and the venous bypass; (b) a catheter of the type in use for the internal thoracic artery; and (c) a catheter of the type in use for the gastroepiploic artery.

  • Patent number: 5445522
Abstract: This invention relates to a combustion device for feeding hydrogen gas and oxygen gas into a combustion vessel, while heating the same, to generate water vapor. The combustion device comprises a hydrogen gas injection nozzle for feeding hydrogen gas into the combustion vessel, and an oxygen gas injection nozzles for feeding oxygen gas into the combustion vessel. The oxygen nozzles are projected further upward in the combustion vessel beyond the forward end of the hydrogen gas injection nozzle, and opened at a plurality of positions, whereby to diffuse oxygen widely around. The combustion device of this structure can feed a large amount of hydrogen gas for the combustion, whereby a large amount of water vapor can be generated without enlarging the combustion vessel, and troubles, such as the devitrification of the forward ends of the nozzles, abnormal heating in the combustion vessel.

  • Patent number: 4950870
Abstract: A heat-treating apparatus includes a process tube accommodating an object to be heat-treated therein, and a plurality of independent heaters including at least three heaters arranged at both end portions and the central portion of a side wall of the process tube, so as to surround the process tube and, the heating temperatures of the individual heaters being freely adjustable. In this heat-treating apparatus, no direct heat transfer is caused between the heaters, so that the heating temperature of the heater at each end portion of the process tube can be adjusted to a high value, without entailing such an uneven temperature distribution as is caused in the case of a conventional heat-treating apparatus. Thus, uniform temperature distribution can be attained in an area covering the same range for the conventional apparatus, even though the heaters at both end portions are reduced in length.
