  • Publication number: 20160306865
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system includes a processor and logic integrated with and/or executable by the processor. The logic causes the processor to receive, at a remote site connected to a production site via a network, an incremental file list from the production site, each incremental file indicated by the incremental file list being either updated or new as determined during a time period between a data image at a previous synchronization (sync) point and a data image at a current sync point. The logic also causes the processor to tally a remote access count of each incremental file on the incremental file list received at the remote site by users at the remote site, record the tallied remote access counts in the incremental file list at the remote site, and transfer the incremental file list including the tallied remote access counts to the production site.

  • Publication number: 20160231960
Abstract: Various embodiments are provided for managing a storage network system. The storage network system includes a plurality of zones. Each of the plurality of zones includes at least one storage network device. A link-down event associated with one of the storage network devices is detected. One of a plurality of zones is identified where the link-down event occurred, and a broadcast signal is transmitted in the storage network giving notice of the detected link-down event. A determination of whether alternative storage network devices in the identified one of the plurality of zones where the link-down event occurred are in a link-down state, where at least a zone table and a routing table is used for the determining. In response to all of the storage network devices being in the link-down state, the identified one of the plurality of zones where the link-down event occurred is placed in a down state.

  • Patent number: 9378259
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method for determining a transfer order of files includes acquiring the access count of a replicated file at a production site and at a remote site, these access counts being reflected in the order for asynchronous replication. In addition, the access count of backed up files at the remote site is also acquired and reflected in the order for asynchronous replication according to another embodiment. This allows for improved determination of the transmission order of files (according to priority based on usage) from a production site to a remote site in an asynchronous replication function.

  • Publication number: 20160092141
Abstract: In a hierarchical storage memory (HSM), a file recalled by a specific application is migrated as soon as possible after completion of the application process. Specifically, the effective UID of a specific process is preregistered on an HSM client. After a recall operation is performed on a certain file from the user ID, when there is no access from the UID to the file for a given length of time, the file is migrated. This prevents files premigrated by access from any application other than the specific one from being handled in the same way, resolving a disadvantageous problem caused when these (premigrated) files are not desired to be migrated preferentially.

  • Publication number: 20160055171
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for asynchronous replication in a hierarchical storage management integrated storage system. For a given file to be replicated from a primary storage system to a remote storage system, the primary storage system accesses the remote storage system to determine file existence and migration status at the remote storage system for the given file. Responsive to the primary storage system determining that the given file exists and has been migrated from first tier storage to second tier storage at the remote storage system, the primary storage system determines a first performance penalty for file recall and a second performance penalty for sending excess data from the primary storage system to the remote storage system.

  • Patent number: 9250989
Abstract: An identification request is received from a host device. A virtual address that identifies at least the first device and a second device is determined. The first device and the second device are coupled together to form a plurality of redundant paths between the host device and a target device. A plurality of target ports associated with the target device are determined. A single virtual target port address is assigned to the plurality of target ports associated with the target device. A first of the plurality of redundant paths between the host device and the target device is designated as an active path. The first of the plurality of redundant paths between the host device and the target device is associated with a first of the plurality of target ports. The virtual address and the virtual target port address are transmitted to the host device.

  • Publication number: 20160016638
Abstract: A bicycle control device controls a motor to assist driving of a wheel of a bicycle. The bicycle control device includes an input unit and a controller that switches, when the input unit is operated, between a ride mode that controls the motor in correspondence with manual driving force and a walk mode that drives the motor in correspondence with the operation of the input unit. After switching to the walk mode, the controller drives the motor in correspondence with the operation of the input unit.

  • Patent number: 9162647
Abstract: An object of the invention is to reduce the weight of a pretensioner by reducing the length of a piston and a wire of the pretensioner. A pretensioner (1) is used in a seat belt device and pulls a seat belt. Due to gas supplied into a cylinder (10) from a gas generator (4), a piston (20) is moved in the cylinder (10). A wire (60) is connected to the piston (20) and the seat belt and pulls the seat belt when the piston (20) moves. The wire (60) has both ends that are connected to the seat belt and has a folded portion (63) that is connected to the piston (20) via connecting means (51). The connecting means (51) has a connecting hole (24) that is formed in the piston (20) and through which the folded portion (63) passes and has a detachment preventing member (52) that is positioned between the folded portion (63) and the piston (20) to prevent the folded portion (63) from being detached from the connecting hole (24).

  • Patent number: 9132803
Abstract: A winding drum with a webbing wound thereon has one axial end rotatably supported by one sidewall section of a housing, and a shaft section raised from the other axial end is rotatably supported through a cover member mounted on the outer end of the other sidewall section of the housing. The housing has an opening formed in the other sidewall section through which a ratchet gear is inserted with gap therebetween, the ratchet gear being formed on the outer peripheral edge of the winding drum at the other axial end side thereof; and inner teeth formed on the inner peripheral edge of the opening. When pretensioner mechanism is activated and tensile force greater than predetermined level acts on the webbing, the cover member is plastically deformed through the shaft section and locks the ratchet gear into engaged state wherein the ratchet gear is engaged with the inner teeth.
