  • Patent number: 9760182
Abstract: An input apparatus for controlling an information terminal includes a gesture detecting unit that detects a rotational movement of a wrist of a user about a lower arm of the user and an output unit that outputs a control command for controlling a device to be controlled to the device to be controlled on the basis of a rotational direction of the detected rotational movement. If the gesture detecting unit detects a first rotational movement in a first rotational direction and thereafter detects a second rotational movement in a second rotational direction that is opposite to the first rotational direction, the output unit outputs a second control command corresponding to the second rotational direction without outputting a first control command corresponding to the first rotational direction.

  • Publication number: 20170201679
Abstract: In an imaging device, a difference calculation unit calculates a differential signal between charge signals that have been accumulated and are held by first and charge holding units with different timings. A multiple sampling unit performs multiple sampling processing on the differential signal, and an analog digital conversion unit converts a signal that has undergone multiple sampling processing to a digital signal. That is, multiple sampling processing is performed on a differential signal with a higher sparisty than that of an image signal.

  • Patent number: 9442685
Abstract: A printer, a control method of a printer, and a control system enable a printer to efficiently inform a control device that cancelling a print job was instructed by operation of an operating unit. The printer detects if a cancel button was operated, stores button operation information indicating if the cancel button was operated based on the detection result, and if a status response request is received from a host computer, adds and returns button operation information in status information indicating the requested status.

  • Patent number: 9327525
Abstract: When the user operates a paper feed button 9c while the access cover 11 is open (steps ST1, ST2), the printer 1 moves the printhead 12 from the printhead-down position 12D to the printhead-up position 12U, and moves the second paper feed roller pair 31 from the nip state to the nip-release state (step ST3). When the access cover 11 is then closed, the printer 1 returns the second conveyance roller pair 31 to the nip state, and returns the printhead 12 to the printhead-down position 12D (steps ST4, ST5). The operation for changing the second conveyance roller pair 31 between the nip state and the nip-release state is therefore intuitive, easily understood, and simple for the user.

  • Patent number: 8966008
Abstract: Firmware stored in a printer such as an inkjet printer can be rewritten by executing a firmware rewriting process which is not dependent upon the internal processing status of the printer. A printer for executing a printing process based on print data sent from a host computer has a rewriting unit for executing a firmware rewriting process, a print unit for executing processes other than the firmware rewriting process, a rewrite command interpreting unit for detecting a rewrite command that precedes the transmission of rewrite data required for the firmware rewriting process, and a control unit for executing the firmware rewriting process with a priority over all other processes when a rewrite command is detected.

  • Patent number: 8848259
Abstract: A media processing device improves the recognition rate of magnetic ink character data from magnetic ink characters printed on a medium. The media processing device 1 has a magnetic reading unit 41 that acquires the magnetic data of magnetic ink characters S2 from a check S1; and a front image scanner unit 25 that exposes the check S1 to a front image scanning light and acquires front image data. When at least a magnetic data read command to read magnetic ink characters S2 is received from a computer 80, the front image scanner unit 25 is set to a front image scanning mode 11 that acquires front image data using infrared light as the front image data. The check processing device 1 acquires the magnetic data and front image data, and sends the acquired data to the computer 80. The computer 80 recognizes the magnetic ink characters S2.
