  • Patent number: 8345268
Abstract: A beam irradiation device includes a photodetector which receives servo light and outputs a detection signal depending on a light receiving position of the servo light, and a signal processing section which obtains the light receiving position based on the detection signal. In the above arrangement, the signal processing section has an A/D conversion circuit which converts the detection signal into a digital signal, and an error signal adjusting circuit which converts an error component signal to be outputted from the photodetector when the photodetector is not irradiated by the servo light, into a signal within a processable range of the A/D conversion circuit, and supplies the converted signal to the A/D conversion circuit. A first digital signal derived from the detection signal is corrected with a second digital signal derived from the error component signal.

  • Patent number: 7164639
Abstract: A DC voltage value is obtained at least at an inside position, an intermediate position, and an outside position on a disc (1) from a drive signal that is supplied to a focusing coil (4) built into an optical pickup (2). From the DC voltage values is obtained a relationship of a position between the respective positions and the DC voltage value, and this relationship is stored into a memory circuit (12). Then, during recording or playback, the DC voltage value that is calculated on the basis of the recording or playback position of the signal at that time and the AC signal included in the drive signal that is supplied to the focusing coil (4) are added to create a signal to be supplied to a tilt adjustment coil (6).

  • Patent number: 6208433
Abstract: In an image pick-up apparatus, the image on a visual field over an original copy is focused on an one-dimensional image pick-up device by a lens through a mirror. A prism for taking in the ambient light is disposed at the end portion of the one-dimensional image pick-up device. A sample-hold circuit samples and holds an ambient light signal portion of the image signal Vin and outputs a sample-hold signal Vref. A division circuit performs the operation of division Vin/Vref, using the sample-hold signal Vref. As a result, the image signal Vin will be normalized by the ambient light signal Vref for each scan line (line by line). An amplification circuit amplifies the output Vin/Vref of the division circuit so that the ambient light signal level may become VO and outputs it to an A/D conversion circuit. The image signal quantified by the A/D-conversion circuit is output to an external equipment by an external I/F circuit.

  • Patent number: 6004514
Abstract: A gas chromatographic system for analyzing gas components includes an analyzer, a constant temperature oven, an analyzer case, an indicator, an integrated sample conditioner, and a coupler. The analyzer includes a sample valve having a detector and a heater built therein and first and second columns wound around the periphery of the sample valve. The constant temperature oven accommodates the analyzer unit therein. The analyzer case accommodates the constant temperature oven. The indicator is protruded from the analyzer case to display analysis processes and results. The integrated sample conditioner provides an optimal condition for analysis. The coupler couples the analyzer unit with the sample conditioner so as to supply a sample gas and one of a carrier gas and a reference gas from the sample conditioner to the analyzer unit.

  • Patent number: 5957608
Abstract: Basic configuration of a cap is as follows. When the end face of an elastic seal cylinder arranged in a cap for a writing instrument is caused to abut against and come into tight contact with the end portion of the mouth piece of a barrel cylinder to hermetically seal a point assembly and the opening portion of an air groove, first, the distal end of the point assembly is hermetically sealed with the bottom of the seal cylinder. The inner opening edge portion of the seal cylinder fits on the conical portion of an ink reservoir or of a point assembly support from an intermediate portion of the conical portion, and is gradually attached to the barrel cylinder while widening the opening portion of the seal cylinder in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 5899618
Abstract: A multiplex writing implement of the invention has a multiple number of writing elements, including at least one ball-point pen element which is filled up with a thixotropic water-soluble or low-viscosity oil-based ball-point ink. The ink reserving portion of the ink reservoir of the ball-point pen element is non-flexible and has a relatively large cross-section. A portion for jointing the point assembly with the ink reserving portion is formed so that the element can readily be deflected transversely with respect to the axial direction. The writing tip portions of these writing elements can selectively be projected from and retracted into the barrel front. This multiplex writing implement is able to create line traces with thick line density without causing any blobbing of ink or ink starving. It is also possible to prevent accidental ink leakage. That is, ink can be prevented from staining the barrel cylinder, user's hands, clothes etc.
