  • Patent number: 5745694
Abstract: In a reconfigurable network shared by multiple users, a reservation request is sent from a user who desires to establish a network resource in the network. The request contains indications of a circuit assigned to the user, a network resource desired to be allocated from the resource of the assigned circuit, dates and start and end times of a reservation time span. A reservation system includes an interface connected to the user networks for receiving the request, a first database, a second database for storing resources respectively assigned to the user networks. An admission controller connected to the interface is responsive to a user's request for accessing the first and second databases to verify the availability of the desired resource, and informs the user as to the results of the verification. If the desired resource is available, the data of the request is stored into the first database. As a separate unit, a link control module is provided which is connected to one of the interconnection switches.

  • Patent number: 5622408
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a seat reclining apparatus for a vehicle having a seat cushion and a seat back pivotally hinged thereto. A lower arm is secured to the seat cushion, while an upper arm is secured to the seat back. The lower arm and upper arm are rotatably mounted on a rotating shaft. A load sustaining mechanism is provided between the lower arm and the upper arm, and sustains a reaction force which is caused to be applied to the rotating shaft when the locking mechanism restrains the rotation of the upper arm relative to the lower arm. The load sustaining mechanism may comprise an arcuate protruding portion formed on the lower arm, and an arcuate groove formed on the upper arm for receiving the protruding portion.

  • Patent number: 5581689
Abstract: Restoration guide information is set on design of a network in data bases of terminal nodes of a current path. When a failure is detected during operation, establishment of a restoration path is tried by connecting a series of adjacent mergers in accordance with the restoration guides. If connection of adjacent mergers according to the restoration guides is impossible due to a multiple failure, the connection is tried by using associate mergers. When the restoration path is reestablished from an associate merger to the merger, similar processes are repeated. If two or more restoration paths are obtained during progress of restoration, one final restoration path is selected for use in the restoration in accordance with a predetermined reference. Link resources are released except for those connected in the final restoration path.
