  • Patent number: 7998021
Abstract: A control method for a vehicular drive apparatus that includes a driving power source that includes an engine and a motor, and a shift portion provided in a power transmission path from the driving power source to a drive wheel, includes staring the engine by executing an engine speed control that increases an engine speed to a predetermined engine speed or higher, and executing an engine torque generation control that generates engine torque by supplying fuel and igniting the fuel at the predetermined engine speed or higher. In the case where the controller determines that the period during which the shift of the shift portion is performed overlaps the period during which the engine is started, the engine is started by executing the engine speed control during the shift of the shift portion, and executing the engine torque generation control after the shift of the shift portion is completed.

  • Patent number: 7998022
Abstract: A control device for a vehicle which includes a differential portion controlling a differential state between the number of rotations of an input shaft connected to an engine, and the number of rotations of an output shaft connected to drive wheels, with controlling an operating state of an electric motor, and an automatic shifting portion forming part of a power transmitting path. The control device prevents degradation in operability of the vehicle, even in the presence of a shifting command resulting from a manual shift operation when the automatic shifting portion remains under a limited shifting state. More particularly, if the shifting command is present due to the manual shift operation, the differential state of the differential portion is controlled, thereby causing a variation in a drive force at a rate corresponding to the shifting command.

  • Patent number: 7955215
Abstract: A vehicular drive system is disclosed as including an electrically operated differential portion (16) disposed in a power transmitting path between an engine (8) and drive wheels (38) for controlling an operating state of an electric motor (M), connected to a rotary element of a differential portion (11), for controlling a differential state between an input-shaft rotation speed and an output-shaft rotation speed, and a shifting portion (20) forming a part of the power transmitting path and functioning as a step-variable automatic shifting portion. A control device (40) performs a control of output torque of the electric motor during a downshift of the step-variable shifting portion so as to suppress a variation in the engine rotation speed. The control of output torque is performed so as to increase the output torque by inertia torque of the electric motor, thereby achieving a reduction in shifting shock.
