    Abstract: According to one embodiment, the ultrasonic probe includes a transducer group, an acoustic transmission layer, and a protective material. The transducer group has a plurality of transducers transmitting ultrasonic waves. The acoustic transmission layer transmits the ultrasonic waves transmitted by the transducer group. The protective material protects the transducer group and the acoustic transmission layer. A width of the transducer group in an elevation direction and an opening width of the protective material at the position corresponding to the body contact surface of the acoustic transmission layer are almost identical. The transducer group is provided at a predetermined distance from the body contact surface of the acoustic transmission layer.

The plurality of vibrating elements are formed by being divided by first grooves passing through the vibrator and the back layer. Second grooves passing through the vibrating elements and penetrating into the back layer are provided in each of the vibrating elements. A penetration depth of the second grooves in a second direction in the back layer is less than a width of the second grooves in the first direction in the vibrating elements.

Transducers are classified into at least a first group and a second group. The first FPC layer and the second FPC layer include upper surface connection pads and lower surface electrode pads which maintain a uniform level at positions spatially corresponding to the respective transducers. FPC layers constituting an FPC multilayer body are bonded to each other to be integrally formed in a region corresponding to the width of the array. On the other hand, the respective FPC layers are not bonded to each other and separated from each other outside the region corresponding to the width of the array.
