  • Patent number: 6700566
Abstract: A communication terminal apparatus includes a communication section that controls communication to a destination and a browser that analyzes hypertexts, and displays an image in accordance with the analyzed hypertexts on a display, the image having at least an input field. Hardware keys are configured to input numbers and characters, and are selectively operable in a first mode to input a destination number to the communication section in order to communicate with the destination, and in a second mode to input data to the input field. A controller controls a status of the hardware keys in one of the first and second modes. The controller controls the hardware keys to input data to the browser when an input position is in the input field, and controls the hardware keys to input a destination number to the communication section when the input position is out of the input field.

  • Patent number: 6658456
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus is connected to a mail server, and receives an electric tail from a mail box. A header analyzing unit analyzes a header portion of the received electric mail so as to obtain a sender ID. Next, a transfer determination unit matches the obtained sender ID and a content of a sender ID column of a transfer management table. When a match is found, the transfer determination unit reads a content of a transfer destination ID column corresponding to the sender ID column in the transfer management table and a content of a transfer attribute column. An appended file portion is deleted from the electric mail in accordance with the content of the read transfer attribute column, “deletion process.” Thereafter, the electric mail from which the appended file portion is deleted is transferred to a transfer destination registered in the read transfer destination ID column.

  • Patent number: 6552827
Abstract: The facsimile apparatus according to the present invention comprises a decision section for checking whether or not the document edit flag is ON when the document sensor detects a document. When the document edit flag is ON, this decision section decides that edited image data are stored in edited document storage area 14A. Then, this decision section checks whether or not to send both the edited image data and paper document. When it decides that both should be sent, this decision section checks whether or not the paper document should be sent first. If the paper document is sent first, this decision section checks whether or not the edited image data should be inserted into the paper document. If the operator selects “Yes”, this decision section decides that the paper document should be scanned by the scanner, sent one page at a time, and when the specified page appears the scanned image data should be sent followed by the rest of the paper document.

Hardware keys are configured to input numbers and characters, and are selectively operable in a first mode to input a destination number to the communication section in order to communicate with the destination, and in a second mode to input data to the input field. An off hook detector detects whether the communication section is in an off hook condition and a controller controls a status of the hardware keys in one of the first and second modes. The controller, when the off hook detector detects that the communication section is in the off hook condition and when the hardware keys are in the second mode, switches the input of the hardware keys, from the second mode to the first mode.

  • Patent number: 6459423
Abstract: The communication terminal apparatus according to the present invention comprises a determination section for checking whether or not a dial key is pressed. If a dial key is pressed, the determination section checks whether the “dial key/browser dual-function” flag in the setting table is ON or OFF. If it is ON, the determination section checks whether the “focus HTML input field” flag is ON or OFF. If it is ON, the determination section determines that the input data of the dial key be subjected to browser input processing. On the other hand, if the “dial key/browser input dual-function” flag is OFF, this determination section determines that the dial key be used for dial input processing.
