Patent number: 4331939Abstract: An invention concerning the electrode structure of a gas laser device is disclosed. In the outer peripheral part of a discharge gas circulating hole (32) provided in the central part of an upper gas stream side one (16) of electrodes (14) and (16) disposed at both the ends of a discharge tube (8), a plurality of gas circulating apertures (34) are further provided over the entire periphery. A glow discharge portion in the discharge tube (8) is fined towards the central part of the tube by a gas which passes through the outer-peripheral gas circulating apertures (34). Thus, the laser intensity profile becomes the Gaussian distribution, and the laser generation efficiency is enhanced.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1980Date of Patent: May 25, 1982Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kouji Kuwabara, Hiroyuki Sugawara, Toshiharu Shirakura, Kouji Sasaki, Satoshi Takemori

Patent number: 4216513Abstract: A capacitor and an inductance are connected in parallel with an interruptor disposed in a d-c circuit before the interruptor is mechanically opened. An oscillating current i.sub.o occurs in a circuit composed of the interruptor, the capacitor having a predetermined capacitance and the inductance having a predetermined amount of inductance when the interruptor is mechanically opened. The amplitude of the oscillating current i.sub.o is gradually increased and is superposed on a d-c current I. The interruptor breaks itself when the sum of the d-c current I and the oscillating current i.sub.o across the interruptor reaches zero.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1978Date of Patent: August 5, 1980Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Shunji Tokuyama, Hiroyuki Sugawara

Patent number: 4196327Abstract: A vacuum interrupter comprises a pair of opposed conductor rods extending exteriorlly of a vacuum vessel, a pair of main electrodes mounted to ends of the paired conductor rods and separable from each other, and coil electrodes which induce axial magnetic flux acting on arc produced when one main electrode separates from the other main electrode. The coil electrode includes a first arm section connected to the conductor rod and passing the current coming from one portion of the conductor rod radially thereof, a branching section for branching the current from the first arm section in reverse directions, and a second arm section for passing the branched currents until they are totalized again at the other portion of the conductor rod separated from the one portion by a spacer interposed between the first and second arm sections, whereby magnetic flux induced by the branched currents is cancelled out at the conductor rod, preventing the generation of eddy current in the conductor rod.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1977Date of Patent: April 1, 1980Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Yukio Kurosawa, Yukio Kawakubo, Hiroyuki Sugawara
