  • Publication number: 20080048551
Abstract: The discharge between the electron source and the anode is prevented, thus providing a highly reliable image display device. The data signal lines d and the scanning signal lines formed via an insulating layer INS are provided on the inside surface of the rear substrate SUB1, and further the electron sources ELS are formed at intersections between the data signal lines d and the scanning signal lines s. Discharge preventing members SSB are disposed on the scanning signal lines s. The discharge preventing members SSB have conductive layers ECL on an upper surface of an insulating core member MBD made preferably of glass, and is fixed in a lower surface thereof to the scanning signal lines s with an adhesive FGL such as frit glass. The width of the discharge preventing member SSB is arranged to be greater than the width of the scanning signal line s, and the dimensions are arranged so that the discharge preventing member SSB covers the scanning signal line s when viewed from the anode.

  • Publication number: 20080024051
Abstract: An image display device includes a vacuum envelope which is constituted of a rectangular back substrate which arranges electron sources in the vicinity of intersecting portions of image signal electrodes and scanning signal electrodes, a rectangular face substrate which includes phosphor layers and anodes, and a frame body which is connected to peripheral regions of the respective substrates. A frame width size of a frame body is set such that the long-side frame width is larger than the short-side frame width thus realizing the miniaturization and the reduction of weight of the image display device.

  • Publication number: 20080012464
Abstract: In a display in which two substrates are disposed facing each other with the inner pressure reduced, spacers are used to keep the distance between the two substrates. The spacers are fixed to the substrates using a fixing material obtained by hardening a paste-like adhesive. By transferring paste to each of the spacers, drying the paste applied to the spacer, and applying paste to the dried paste, the amount of paste to be attached to the spacer can be controlled.

  • Publication number: 20070200476
Abstract: The present invention provides a display device allowing the quality and reliability to be improved by preventing the occurrence of vacuum leak attributable to dislocation which may be caused by preliminary baking and panel sealing. A display device in which the end surfaces of a support body 13 are hermetically bonded to a front substrate 2 and a rear substrate 1 by sealing members 4. In the display device, the support body 13 is formed by bonding together a plurality of support body members 13X1, 13X2, 13Y1 and 13Y2, and adjacent support body members are bonded by using a first bonding member 141 for bonding a central area of each bonding surface and a second bonding member 142 for bonding a marginal area around the central area. The softening temperature of the first bonding member is set higher than the softening temperature of the second bonding member.

  • Publication number: 20060220522
Abstract: By forming chamfered portions on corner portions of a spacer, a contact area between the spacer and a fixing material is enlarged. Side surfaces of the spacer including the chamfered portions are embedded into the inside of the fixing material and hence, an adhesion area of the spacer with the fixing material is enlarged thus enhancing an adhesion strength. As a result, a fixing strength of the spacers which hold a space between a back panel and a face panel in vacuum is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6292149
Abstract: In an all-around vehicle antenna apparatus according to the present invention, a window frame of a vehicle window is made of metal, a thin-film conductor is formed on the surface of a translucent member (e.g., glass) of the vehicle window to form a slot between the window frame and thin-film conductor, and the slot functions as a slot antenna element. A plurality of thin-film conductor pieces are arranged such that at least part of the pieces is inserted into the slot so as to have a specific relationship with the slot antenna element, and thus the thin-film conductor pieces serve as a plural-wave-receivable antenna element adapted to a specific frequency.
