  • Publication number: 20010009124
Abstract: A decarbonating apparatus has a dehumidifying section for adsorbing humidity contained in waste gas and a decarbonating section for adsorbing CO2 contained in the dehumidified waste gas. The decarbonating section includes a decarbonating drum rotor loaded with a CO2 adsorbent having a honeycomb structure and arranged so as to adsorb CO2 contained in the waste gas, a heated gas supply pipe for supplying a heated gas so as to desorb CO2 adsorbed by the CO2 adsorbent, a purge gas supply pipe for supplying a purge gas so as to purge desorbed CO2, and a cooling gas supply pipe for supplying a cooling gas so as to regenerate the CO2 adsorbent. The decarbonating drum rotor is rotated to successively pass through the adsorption region, the desorption region, the purging region, and the regeneration region.

  • Patent number: 6230845
Abstract: A controller for an elevator. The elevator includes a landing passageway where a car stops and passengers board or alight and a hoistway through which the car is raised or lowered. A control panel for controlling the raising, lowering, and stopping of the car is disposed in the hoistway at a position where the control panel does not interfere with the raising or lowering of the car, and a mechanism for drawing out the control panel to the landing passageway is provided. Accordingly, space in the hoistway is effectively used, and the landing passageway which passengers do not use during maintenance can be readily utilized for a maintenance operation.

  • Patent number: 6095009
Abstract: In order to provide a ball screw, ball, which allows to reduce the ball's noise and prevent wearing and clogging of ball s without decreasing its loading capacity, without using a ball chain or spacer balls, a cylindrical spacer 20 is disposed at each area between adjacent balls 10. The spacer 20 includes, at the both axial ends thereof, concave surfaces 22, 22, each of which is complementary to the spherical surface of the ball 10, and a crater-like oil pocket P is formed on the concave surfaces 22, 22 in order to retain a lubricant such as grease. The ball 10 slides in contact with the concave surfaces 22, 22. At that time, the lubricant reduces the friction of the ball 10, while the lubricant is transferred on the ball 10 and distributed over the ball circulation passage thoroughly.

  • Patent number: 5648543
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing a 4-nitrosodiphenylamine of the formula (2) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently represent hydrogen atom, methyl group, ethyl group, cyclohexyl group, methoxy group, ethoxy group or chlorine or bromine atom, or a salt thereof, comprising treating a diphenylamine represented by the formula (1) ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined above with (i) a mixture of nitrogen oxides, (ii) a hydrogen halide and (iii) an aliphatic alcohol, wherein the atomic ratio of oxygen to nitrogen of the mixture of nitrogen oxides is more than 1.0 and less than 2.0. This process produces 4-nitrosodiphenylamine of the formula (2) or a salt thereof conveniently and effectively, and is industrially advantageous.

  • Patent number: 5597512
Abstract: A method for preparing a silica sol having an elongated shape comprising a step (a) where an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble calcium salt or a water-soluble magnesium salt or a mixture of the water-soluble calcium salt or the water-soluble magnesium salt is mixed with an aqueous colloidal solution of an active silicic acid; a step (b) where an alkaline substance is mixed with the aqueous liquid obtained in the step (a); a step (c) where a part or the whole of the mixture obtained in the step (b) is heated at 60.degree. C. or higher to obtain a heel solution and a feed solution is prepared by a part of the mixture obtained in the step (b) or a mixture separately prepared by the step (b) and the feed solution is added to the heel solution; and a step where water is evaporated during said addition step so that SiO.sub.2 concentration is concentrated to 6 to 30% by weight.

  • Patent number: 5481664
Abstract: For each media information element constituting a display screen image in a multimedia system, main data and attribute data are stored in a storage. After the user copies a media information element from a screen layout to another screen layout, until an attribute of the media information element is altered in either one of the layouts, the main data and/or the attribute data of the media information element is not copied in the storage of the system. Moreover, when the user varies an attribute of a media information element in one of the layouts, only attribute data of the media information element is changed in the storage. The media information includes music pieces and voices in addition to characters and graphic images.

  • Patent number: 5232434
Abstract: A pump unit for assisting in the blood feeding operation of a heart includes a pair of pumps 7a, 7b connected in parallel with each other. When the pump 7a (or 7b) has reached its expanded position and the pump 7b (or 7a) has reached its contracted position, the operation is changed so that the pump 7a (or 7b) is set up for contraction while the pump 7b (or 7a) is set up for expansion. A time difference TCM between the time when the expanded position is reached and the time when the contracted position is reached is determined. If TCM>Tr, a driving pressure for contraction is changed to a higher value while if TCM<Tr, a driving pressure for contraction is changed to a lower value. Tr represents a non-responsive interval which can be adjusted by an operator. When Tr has a high value, the pump exhibits a low flow rate which serves as a drive to assist in the delivery of blood by the heart. In this manner, the operator is enabled to adjust the driving flow rate.

  • Patent number: 5045736
Abstract: An actuator end cap is provided for an actuator having a housing and a cover connected together and defining a joint therebetween. The end cap has a skirt portion disposed in overlying relation to the joint to provide a fluid-tight seal for the joint. A breather hole is formed in the side of the cover and a semi-cylindrical groove is formed on the inner surface of the skirt of the end cap. One end of the groove is disposed in communication with the breather hole in the cover and the other end of the groove is in communication with a vent hole extending outwardly through the end cap.

Abstract: An electric motor assembly is comprised of a two-part cylindrical housing having a stepped interconnection. A circular plate is secured between the two housing portions by means of a plurality of spring clips located in peripheral recesses on said disk and having a flexible extension portion disposed in stressed engagement with one of said cylindrical housing portions to bias the plate into engagement with the stepped portion of the other cylindrical housing portion. The stator and rotor may be located on one side of the plate and a brush may be mounted on the opposite side of the plate for engagement with a commutator rotatable with the rotor.
