  • Patent number: 10000149
Abstract: A container-securing device is provided. A main body of the container-securing device is detachably/attachably supported on a cargo bed yet movement of the main body is restricted in any direction within the horizontal plane. The container-securing device 1 includes a socket 3 which is fixed onto the cargo bed; and a main body 2 which is fixed into the socket 3 to fix a container: The main body 2 has its lower region formed with projections 22b extending horizontally; and the socket 3 has a storage space 31 to store the projections 22b, a first restrictor 32 around the storage space 31 which allows rotation of the projections 22b within a horizontal plane but restricts other movement thereof in any direction within the horizontal plane, an opening 33 which communicates with the storage space 31 and allows the projections 22b to be inserted through, and a second restrictor 34 around the opening 33 which restricts movement of the projections 22b in the vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 6164862
Abstract: A container coupling tool having a handle for disengaging top and bottom cones which is less likely to be turned in the wrong way. The coupling tool has a tool body having a first protrusion and a second protrusion and is formed with a bore extending therethrough from the top face of the first protrusion to the bottom face of the second protrusion. A rotary shaft is inserted in the bore. The tool body is further formed with a handle inserting hole in which is inserted a handle shaft having a lever at its outer end. A motion converter is provided between the handle shaft and the rotary shaft. By pushing up the lever, the top cone can be disengaged, and by pulling down the lever, the bottom cone can be disengaged. Thus, the lever cannot be turned in the wrong way by mistake. A stopper is inserted in a stopper inserting hole formed in a flange of the tool body.

  • Patent number: 6113305
Abstract: A container coupling tool including a tool body having a flange and positioning protrusions provided on top and bottom of the flange. The tool body is formed with a bore extending therethrough from the top surface of one of the protrusions to the bottom surface of the other. A rotary shaft is received in the bore and has at its top and bottom ends top and bottom cones. Also, handle is inserted in a hole formed in the tool body and is coupled to the rotary shaft. The tool body is formed with a stopper hole opening to the bottom of the flange and communicating with the bore. A stopper having a stopper pin is vertically movably inserted in the stopper hole.

  • Patent number: 5253975
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for loading a container with cars. A car loading apparatus includes a box shaped frame having a rectangular base frame, side frames, end frames and a top frame. It is assembled outside the container. Two cars are loaded onto the frame in two tiers, one on the base frame and the other on the top frame. The upper car is lashed to the frame to compress its suspension springs to such an extent that its top is lower than the upper frame of the entrance of the container. Rollers are mounted on the bottom of the box frame so that the frame thus loaded with two cars can be pushed into the container with human hands. Alternatively, the car-loading frame may be formed of a rectangular base frame and two gate-shaped gantry frames fixedly or removably mounted on the base frame.

  • Patent number: 5062752
Abstract: A container coupling device is disclosed for coupling upper and lower containers together in a simple and reliable manner to allow for reliable transport of stacked containers. The container coupling device includes a rotation restriction mechanism provided between a lower insertion shank and a lower engaging body. The lower engaging body is formed on upper and lower sides with tapered surfaces. A rotary shaft has a spring to bias the lower engaging body in a locking direction. The rotation restriction mechanism serves to temporarily prevent the lower engaging body from turning in the locking direction. This rotation restriction action can be released by additional turning torque in the locking direction. Such torque is produced when the upper or lower tapered surfaces engage with an engaging hole in the container. Upon release of the restriction mechanism, the spring will turn the lower engaging body toward the locking position.

  • Patent number: 4645392
Abstract: A deck fitting for securing a container on the deck of a ship including a socket member fixed to the deck and a coupling member removably attached to the socket member. The base portion of the coupling member has a pair of projections. The socket member has a circular hole and a flange formed at the periphery of the hole and partially cut away. The projections on the coupling member is inserted into under the flange of the socket member through the cutaway portion and then the coupling member is turned.

  • Patent number: 4564984
Abstract: A positioning cone for positioning containers stacked one upon another on a ship or the like engages the containers without the need of turning a separate external lever. This arrangement saves time required to clamp the containers to one another and ensures secure and accurate positioning work by the use of a cooperative latch and locking pin.
