  • Patent number: 6256647
Abstract: A method of searching a database of three-dimensional protein structures. The method comprises the steps of setting a three-dimensional protein structure; forming a two-dimensional binary distance map based on the three-dimensional protein structure; forming a one-dimensional peripheral distribution based on the distance map; and comparing the one-dimensional peripheral distribution of a protein structure with that of another protein structure a dynamic programming algorithm. The method increases detection sensitivity and search speed.

  • Patent number: 6125331
Abstract: There is disclosed a structural alignment method making use of a double dynamic programming algorithm. A distance cut-off approximation is performed, and then .DELTA.N cut-off approximation is performed. An alignment is produced based on the results of the distance cut-off approximation and the .DELTA.N cut-off approximation. Subsequently, an .epsilon.-suboptimal region defined by the obtained approximate solution is determined. Further, double dynamic programing alignment on the full structural environment is performed for residue pairs within the .epsilon.-suboptimal region. The structural alignment method is simpler than conventional methods and can shorten computational time while maintaining high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 5352738
Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition comprising 10 to 60 parts of a graft copolymer (A) and 90 to 40 parts of a rigid copolymer (B), both defined below:(A) The graft copolymer obtained by emulsion graft polymerizing 60 to 20 parts of a specific monomer mixture in the presence of 40 to 80 parts (as solids) of an ethylene-propylene-non-conjugated diene copolymer-containing cross-linked latex containing 0.1 to 20 parts of a modified low molecular weight .alpha.-olefin copolymer in 100 parts of an ethylene-propylene-non-conjugated diene copolymer.(B) The rigid copolymer containing 60 to 76% of an aromatic vinyl type monomer, 40 to 24% of a vinyl cyanide type monomer, and 0 to 30% of a monomer copolymerizable with these monomers. In the production of the graft copolymer (A), a redox type initiator and a monomer mixture are added to the polymerization system continuously over a period of one hour.
