  • Patent number: 9558728
Abstract: A storage device stores a plurality of sets of tone setting information, each of the sets of tone setting information including one or more tone setting parameters. The storage device also stores, for each of the sets of tone setting information, a link ID identifying a link set in association with the set of tone setting information. Processing is performed to cause, based on the link IDs, settings of the tone setting parameters to match between a plurality of sets of the tone setting information having a same link ID. A selected set of the tone setting information is editable in accordance with a user operation. In accordance with the editing, processing is performed to cause a setting of any one of the tone setting parameters in one or more other sets of the tone setting information, having a same link ID as the link ID associated with the edited set of the tone setting information, to match a setting of the tone setting parameter in the edited set of the tone setting information.

  • Patent number: 7312390
Abstract: An external storage device stores automatic music playing data files, each file including data of a progression of musical notes constituting a performance of a music piece, and registration data files, each file including data of a set of parameters to determine the conditions for the performance of the music piece. While an automatic music playing data file of a piece of music and registration data files are loaded into a working memory and are being processed to play the current piece of music automatically, the next automatic music playing data file of the next piece of music to be played and the registration data files to be used next are prefetched from the external storage device into an internal storage device temporarily to be prepared for being transferred to the working memory for the successive automatic music playing after the automatic playing of the current music piece is over.

  • Patent number: 7196259
Abstract: An electronic organ 1 and a personal computer 2 are connected with a MIDI cable. The personal computer 2 is connected to a server 4 via a communication network 3. The personal computer 2 downloads a controlling program from the server 4. The electronic organ 1 is set to be a listening trial mode by an operation of the personal computer 2. In the listening trial mode, an output of a data in a temporally storage area is prohibited. The server 4 provides a first encoded performance data to the personal computer 2, and the personal computer 2 decodes the received first encoded performance data. The electronic organ 1 generates a key, and the personal computer 2 secondary encodes the performance data with the key and transmits it to the electronic organ 1. The electronic organ 1 deletes the data stored in the temporally storage area after the listening trial.

  • Patent number: 6809248
Abstract: A CPU 31 reads out musical tone control information such as tone color data and effect data from an external storage device 35 or retrieves it via an interface circuit 51. The CPU 31 supplies the musical tone control information to a tone generator 41 and an effect circuit 42 in order to control the tone color of a musical tone signal and the effect added to the signal, using the musical tone control information. When the musical tone control information is not applicable to the tone generator 41 and the effect circuit 42, the information is substituted by musical tone control information applicable to the tone generator 41 and effect circuit 42 and stored in a ROM 33 for the use later on. On a display unit 13 there is displayed the name of substituted tone color data or effect data with information that a substitution has been made.

  • Patent number: 5777251
Abstract: An electronic musical instrument apparatus includes a pad and fret switches. When the pad is stricken while any one of the fret switches is depressed, at least a musical tone is generated. The apparatus has different modes of performance operation including a first melody mode, a second melody mode, a base mode, a first chord mode, a second chord mode, an ad-lib mode and the like. In the first melody mode, each time the pad is operated, a note event is read out from a memory, a previous tone that has been generated is muted and, at the same time, a next tone for the note event read out is immediately generated so that a legato-like performance can be performed. If desired, a mute switch is operated to mute a previous tone that is being generated so that a staccato like performance is performed. In the second melody mode, the base mode, the first chord mode and the second chord mode, performance data for note events is successively and continuously read out from a memory.

  • Patent number: 5771294
Abstract: An acoustic image localization apparatus localizes an acoustic image of a plurality of tone color species having various timbres to a source point with respect to a listening point within a sound field. Desired ones of separate source points are specified, which are provisionally set throughout the sound field. Each of the tone color species is assigned to one or more of the specified source points such that each specified source point is assigned with a group of desired tone color species. Acoustic images of the respective groups are localized to corresponding ones of the specified source points. Further, one of separate listening points is designated, which is provisionally set relatively to the source points so that the acoustic images are localized with respect to the designated listening point.

  • Patent number: 5600082
Abstract: An electronic musical apparatus is constructed to play an automatic performance and a manual performance during progression of a musical composition. A data memory is provided for storing a sequence of automatic performance data representative of the musical composition which is composed of a plurality of parts and which is divided into a series of passages by musically rational manner, and for storing a sequence of check point data indicative of break points of the passages. An input implement is manually operated for inputting a sequence of manual performance data assigned to a particular part of the musical composition. A tone generator receives the inputted manual performance data for sounding the manual performance. A microprocessor sequentially retrieves the automatic performance data and the check point data from the data memory and for feeding the retrieved automatic performance data to the tone generator so as to enable the same to sound the automatic performance.
