  • Publication number: 20020167827
Abstract: A DC/DC converter and a series regulator are connected in parallel between an input terminal and an output terminal. At the time of a heavy load, the DC/DC converter is operated. Although the DC/DC converter has a large current consumption of its own, it has a high power conversion efficiency. Accordingly, since a load current increases at the time of a heavy load, it is effective to use the DC/DC converter whose power conversion efficiency is high, and its current consumption can be neglected since the load current is large. On the other hand, at the time of a light load, the series regulator is operated. Although the series regulator has a small current consumption of its own, it has a low power conversion efficiency. Accordingly, at the time of a light load, even when the series regulator is used, its low power conversion efficiency can be neglected because its current consumption is small.

  • Publication number: 20020110009
Abstract: A first charge pump circuit and a second charge pump circuit are complementarily driven by a first driving circuit and a second driving circuit, and step up a DC input voltage by two times. Also, the first driving circuit stops its operation based on a light load judging signal, an input voltage judging signal or an output voltage judging signal, which is input in a control input terminal. For example, when the load is light, there is a margin for the load, and the light load judging signal becomes to be an “L” level. As a result, the first driving circuit stops outputting drive signals, such that the first charge pump circuit stops its operation.

  • Patent number: 4734798
Abstract: A helical scan type of recording apparatus includes means for controlling the supply of recording current to one or more rotary recording heads and erase current to one or more erase heads whose width is selected to produce erasure of each tape signal track twice in succession, the control being executed such that when recording is to be ended, the erase current supply is first terminated and thereafter the recording supply current is terminated after a specific time interval has elapsed, thereby eliminating from the end of each recorded portions the occurrence of a short tape segment which has been erased and not thereafter recorded on. Disturbances during playback, e.g. of a displayed video signal, are thereby eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4669021
Abstract: A tape cassette is used with a recording and/or reproducing apparatus which has an optical tape end detector which is constituted by a light emitting element and light receiving elements. The tape cassette comprises an opaque cassette case having a transparent window, and a lid located at the front of the cassette case. The cassette case accommodates therein a supply reel, a take-up reel, and a magnetic tape. The transparent window enables visual detection of a wound state of the magnetic tape with respect to the reels. The magnetic tape has transparent tapes connected at ends thereof, and forms a predetermined tape path along the front of the cassette case. The transparent tapes are optically detected by the optical tape end detector when the transparent tapes are drawn out from the reels. The lid is capable of assuming an open state and a closed state, and covers the magnetic tape in the predetermined tape path in its closed state.
