    Abstract: A connector is connectable with a sheet-like object having a received portion. The connector comprises a terminal, a holding member and a pressing member. The holding member holds the terminal. The holding member has a regulating portion. The pressing member is supported by at least one of the terminal and the holding member so as to be movable. The pressing member is movable between an open position and a close position and is movable to the close position by being turned forward in a front-rear direction from the open position. The pressing member is provided with a receiving portion and a regulated portion. The receiving portion is positioned forward of the received portion of the object in the front-rear direction when the object is connected with the connector while the pressing member is positioned at the close position.

The actuator has a pressing portion. The actuator is supported by the housing so as to be pivotable between an open position and a close position. When the actuator is located at the open position, a plate-like or sheet-like object comprising an interposed portion and a locked portion, for example, a Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC), is inserted and received in the receiving portion. When the object is received in the receiving portion, the interposed portion is located above the recess, and the locked portion is located rearward of the lock portion. The pressing portion and the bottom portion interpose the interposed portion of the object when the actuator pivots from the open position to the close position.

    Abstract: A connector includes a housing in which a stationary separator portion and an accommodation portion are provided. The accommodation portion receives an actuator above the separator portion and receives an end of an FPC/FFC below the separator portion. A force receiving portion and a contact portion of a contact, which together have a bifurcated shape, are disposed above and below the separator portion, respectively. When the force receiving portion is moved upward by a turning operation of the actuator above the separator portion, the contact portion is abutted with a signal layer of the FPC/FFC, and the position of a ground member which holds the FPC/FFC in conjunction with the contact portion and the position of the separator portion are not changed. Accordingly, the contact between the contact portion and the single layer is stabilized, thereby improving the reliability of the contact between the contact portion of the contact and the FPC/FFC.
