  • Patent number: 5110328
Abstract: A solvent adsorber includes a plural number of adsorbent material units of molded honeycomb structure with sheet heaters interposed between the respective units. The sheet heaters generate heat upon current supply to heat up the adsorbent material. As a result, the adsorbent material releases the adsorbed solvent therefrom. A solvent recovery system is used to pass solvent-containing gas through the solvent adsorber in a first main adsorption tower to obtain a clean gas which has been stripped of the solvent by adsorption on the adsorber. In a second main adsorption tower with a similar adsorber, current is supplied to the sheet heaters to release the solvent from the adsorber and at the same time the tower is evacuated to draw out a concentrated solvent gas. The concentrated solvent gas from the second main adsorption tower is sent to a condenser to condense and collect the solvent in liquefied form.

  • Patent number: 5042266
Abstract: A refrigerating and humidity-regulating system for a container is disclosed, which comprises a refrigerating unit having a humidity-regulating apparatus assembled therein. This humidity-regulating apparatus includes a solid adsorptive material, an air heater, an air blowing means, and an air circulation route for circulating inside and outside air through the air heater and the solid adsorptive material, in that sequence. The solid adsorptive material may be formed as a fixed bed, and inside air and outside air are alternately circulated through the fixed bed. In one preferred embodiment, the above-mentioned humidity-regulating apparatus is assembled in multiple in the refrigerating unit, wherein in each of the humidity-regulating apparatuses the solid adsorptive material is formed as a fixed bed, and inside air and outside air are alternately circulated through the fixed bed in each humidity-regulating apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4095085
Abstract: A high efficiency arc welding process and apparatus wherein an arc is generated between an electrode and plates to be welded, the welding electrode is oscillated, and the direction of the arc is oscillated by a magnetic force in synchronism with the oscillation of the welding electrode so that the arc is directed to the groove face of each plate to be welded.

  • Patent number: 4019018
Abstract: The narrow gap butt welding of aluminum and aluminum alloy plates of a thickness more than 20 mm with a non-consumable electrode is conducted by inserting a filling material into a welding groove, applying a direct current of more than 300 A between said non-consumable electrode which does not have a sharp end and said plates to be welded with straight polarity, maintaining an arc length from 0.5 to 5 mm and shielding the welding groove area with a shielding gas comprising at least 50% helium.
