    Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a face plate with a plurality of light-emitting regions, a rear plate with electron-emitting devices corresponding to the plurality of light-emitting regions, respectively, and a drive circuit that drives the electron-emitting devices. The drive circuit has a correction circuit that calculates a correction value evaluated by influence of emitted electrons from electron-emitting devices which correspond to light-emitting regions around the light-emitting region to be corrected, and corrects a signal input to the electron-emitting device corresponding to the light-emitting region to be corrected based on the correction value. The correction circuit has an adjustment circuit that adjusts the correction value based on variation of characteristics of the plurality of light-emitting regions. Therefore, an image display having improved correction performance and lesser display unevenness can be performed.

    Abstract: A display panel includes a face plate having a transparent substrate, a plurality of phosphor layers disposed on the transparent substrate for emitting different color lights, and a plurality of transmittance adjustment layers interposed between the transparent substrate and the plurality of phosphor layers. Each transmittance adjustment layer corresponds to each phosphor layer for adjusting the transmittances of the lights emitted from the plurality of phosphor layers, and the transmittance adjustment layers have a filtering function with an approximately constant transmittance in the visible light wavelength region. In addition, a rear plate has a plurality of display elements each corresponding to each phosphor layer, wherein the face plate and the rear plate are disposed so that the phosphor layers formed on the face plate are opposite to the display elements formed on the rear plate.

    Abstract: There is provided an image display apparatus having: display devices; a spacer; and a drive circuit. The drive circuit has a first correction circuit that corrects inputted data to make it linear with luminance and a second correction circuit. The second correction circuit has a calculation circuit for calculating an evaluation value and an adjustment circuit. The evaluation value relates to suppression effect that the spacer suppresses an influence on the light emission of a predetermined emitting region due to the inputted image data by driving non-corresponding display devices and is calculated by using the electric charge signal after converting a luminance signal into an electric charge signal. The adjustment circuit calculates an adjustment value that refers to a property of a phosphor based on the luminance signal and dynamically calculates the correction value by using the evaluation value and the adjustment value.
