  • Patent number: 4537322
Abstract: A glass envelope for a cathode-ray tube with a glass panel section which has a faceplate of substantially rectangular shape with long and short sides, the faceplate having inner and outer surfaces. Radii of curvature of the inner and outer surfaces are established so that:(Rso-Rsi)>(Rlo-Rli)andti (Rso-Rsi)>(Rdo-Rdi),where Rsi, Rli, Rdi and Rso, Rlo, Rdo are inner and outer surface radii, respectively, for the lateral axis, the longitudinal axis and the diagonal axis of the faceplate, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4331903
Abstract: A color picture tube comprises the vacuumed tube envelope formed by a face plate having a plurailty of phosphor strips regularly formed on the inner surface, a funnel section having an enlarged end opening on which the face plate is mounted a skirt section on which deflection yoke is mounted and neck integrally formed with the funnel section and having located therein an electron gun assembly for emitting electron beams. A shadow mask having a plurality of slits therein is disposed to face to the inner surface of the face plate. The shadow mask is provided on an integral mask frame by which the shadow mask is secured to the inner surface of the tube envelope. The mask frame has an inner shield secured thereto along the inner circumference of the envelope. The inner shield is coupled to a permanent magnet member faced to the inner surface of the envelope.

  • Patent number: 4217566
Abstract: Disclosed is an in-line type color picture tube apparatus which comprises an in-line type color picture tube including a phosphor screen for displaying a substantially rectangular picture with horizontal, vertical, and diagonal axes and an in-line electron gun arranged in parallel with the horizontal axis so as to be allowed to cast electron beams on the phosphor screen to reproduce a color image, a deflection yoke disposed around the outer periphery of the tube and generating such a magnetic field that may give positive isotropic astigmatism to the electron beams when the electron beams are deflected along the horizontal axis, may give negative isotropic astigmatism to the electron beams when the electron beams are deflected along the vertical axis, and may give negative anisotropic astigmatism to the electron beams when the electron beams are deflected along the diagonal axes, and a correction deflection element formed of a plurality of permanent magnets arranged in the vicinity of the end portion of the de
