  • Patent number: 5625444
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has the capability of maintaining good contact between a recording material and a recording-material carrying belt so that stable carrying force is obtained, thereby preventing deformation of an image due to a failure for the recording material to enter a fixing unit or due to contact of the recording material with some element present above the recording-material carrying belt. The image forming apparatus includes an air fan for generating a wind pressure applied to a recording material in a direction that presses the recording material against a recording-material carrying belt. In an enhanced mode, two or more air fans are arranged in a direction crossing the recording-material carrying direction.

  • Patent number: 5537193
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus in which when separating a recording material from a recording-material conveying sheet, the recording-material conveying sheet is pressed and deformed by a pressing member, the pressing member has a convex curved portion contacting the recording-material conveying sheet in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the recording-material conveying sheet. It is thereby possible to sufficiently deform the recording-material conveying sheet while preventing it from being permanently deformed or broken.
