  • Patent number: 6614164
Abstract: A cathode-ray tube includes a glass envelope having a panel with an inner surface formed with a phosphor screen, and a cylindrical neck extending substantially coaxially with a tube axis. An electron gun is arranged in the neck, and a stem is welded to an end of the neck. The stem has a substantially circular disk-like flare made of glass and having an outer peripheral portion welded to the end of the neck, and a plurality of stem pins attached to the flare. The end of the neck and the flare of the stem are welded to each other such that a glass portion of the flare surrounds a glass portion of the end of the neck from outside.

  • Patent number: 6124669
Abstract: A pair of first magnetic bodies extending in a direction of an X-axis are so disposed as to be opposed to each other on the X-axis in order to shield an external magnetic field acting on three electron beams lined side by side in the direction of X-axis. A pair of arcuated second magnetic bodies are disposed symmetric with respect to the X-axis in the vicinity of a Y-axis at a predetermined distance from a ring-shaped six-pole magnet plate. The first magnetic bodies, second magnetic bodies and six-pole magnet plate are arranged in this positional relationship, whereby a predetermined magnetic field distribution is created. Cathodes of an electron gun structure are arranged in such a position that a sum of a positive magnetic field component is substantially equal to a sum of.the negative magnetic field component on the trajectory of a center beam.

  • Patent number: 6069438
Abstract: A color CRT including an envelope having a tube axis (Z) and including panel (21) having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen (23) is formed, a funnel (22) connected to the panel (21) and neck (25) connected to the funnel (22), an electron gun assembly (40) arranged in the neck (25) for emitting three in-line electron beams toward the phosphor screen (23), convergence magnetic structure (32) arranged outside of the neck (25) for generating a hexapole magnetic field in the neck (25), a first pair of magnetic members (33A, 33B) arranged outside of the neck on a horizontal axis faced to each other with the electron gun interposed therebetween and extending along the axis of the tube; and a second pair of magnetic members (60A, 60B) so arranged in the X-Y plane as to face each other on a Y-axis and elongated along the magnetic structure (32), respectively, the X-axis corresponding to the horizontal axis, the Y-axis corresponding to the vertical axis normal to the tube axis (Z).

  • Patent number: 6060824
Abstract: A pair of magnetic bodies extending in an axial direction of a color cathode ray tube are arranged apart from each other in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction so as to shield an external magnetic field acting on three electron beams forming a row in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction. A ring-like 6-pole magnet plate disposed in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction is arranged in substantially a central region in a longitudinal direction of the magnetic bodies. These 6-pole magnet plate and magnetic bodies arranged in the particular positional relationship generate a magnetic field distributed to have a plurality of peaks of intensity on the orbit of the central beam. The magnetic field runs on the orbit of the central beam toward one magnetic body around one of the peaks, and runs toward the other magnetic body around the adjacent peak.

  • Patent number: 5708323
Abstract: A phosphor screen comprising three color phosphor layers that emit red, green, and blue light is provided on the inner surface of a panel of an envelope, and an in-line type electron gun assembly for emitting three electron beams aligned on the same axis (generally a horizontal axis X) is mounted in a neck. This electron gun assembly has three cathodes arranged in a row, and a plurality of electrodes for sequentially focusing and accelerating the electron beams from the respective cathodes toward the phosphor screen. A pair of belt-like magnetic segments are provided on the outer wall of the neck of the envelope to serve as magnetic members for adjusting an external magnetic field. Each magnetic segment is made of a hot-rolled silicon steel plate having a thickness of 0.35 mm, a width of 4 mm, and a length of 40 mm in the direction of the tube axis.

  • Patent number: 4975618
Abstract: In a color picture tube apparatus, a deflection unit is provided around a color picture tube and a leakage magnetic is generated from the deflection unit. A metal cover made of aluminum, which covers an electrical power source is located in a space to which leakage magnetic field is reached and a first opposition magnetic field is generated from the metal cover due to the leakage magnetic field which produces an eddy current in the metal cover. A metal plate made of a conductive and non-magnetic material is so located between the deflection unit and the metal cover as to be substantially perpendicular to the metal cover. Thus, a second opposition magnetic field is so generated from the metal plate due to the leakage magnetic field as to substantially cancel the first opposition magnetic field.
