  • Patent number: 6241912
Abstract: An aqueous deformation-detecting brightener composition that can easily detect deformation such as unevenness on the surface of a car body by forming a liquid thin film having low foaming property and excellent glossiness is provided by dissolving a glycol ether compound expressed by the following formula (I) and a surfactant in water R1—O—(AO)m—R2  (I) where “R1” represents an alkyl group having 1 to 9 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 1 to 9 carbon atoms, an alkylphenyl group having 1 to 9 carbon atoms, or a functional group expressed by the following general formula (II), “A” represents an alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, “m” represents an average adduct molar number of alkylene oxide, a number of 1 to 20, in which the same alkylene oxide may be added alone, or a mixture of two or more types of alkylene oxide may be added, and “R2” represents an alkyl group having 1 to 9 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 1 to 9

  • Patent number: 4948520
Abstract: A softener composition comprises a mixture of (A) a mono(long-chain) quaternary ammonium salt such as monotallowalkyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, (B) a di(long-chain) quaternary ammonium salt such as ditallowalkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride and (C) a tri(long-chain) quaternary ammonium salt such as tritallowalkyl monomethyl ammonium chloride), the weight ratio of the components (A):(B):(C) falling within the range of from 2 to 30: 96 to 50: 2 to 20, and iodine value of the mixture being in the range of 35 to 100; and (D) a polyoxyethylene adducted nonionic surfactant such as polyoxyethylene octylphenyl ether (P=40). The softener composition improves the softness of natural fibers without impairing the water absorption properties thereof. It also improves the softness of chemical fibers and gives them excellent antistatic property.

  • Patent number: 4678590
Abstract: This invention provides a highly concentrated aqueous softener composition which has improved viscosity characteristics and an excellent long-term storability. The softener composition comprises 7 to 50% by weight of cationic softening agent, 0.05 to 10% by weight of alkylene oxide adducted nonionic surfactant having at least one unsaturated bond in its molecule, 0.005 to 5% by weight of inorganic electrolyte, and the balance of water.
