  • Patent number: 7357569
Abstract: A crown lock structure for a timepiece has a crown having an inner surface provided with a threaded section and a connecting assembly for removably connecting the crown to a case of the timepiece. The connecting assembly comprises a tubular member for integral connection to the timepiece case and a tubular insert removably connected to the tubular member. The tubular member has a first tubular portion for insertion into a through-hole of the timepiece case and a second tubular portion integral with the first tubular portion and removably connected to the tubular insert so as to prevent relative rotation between the tubular member and the tubular insert. The tubular insert has a threaded section for threaded engagement with the threaded section of the crown to removably connect the crown to the timepiece case.

  • Patent number: 7192182
Abstract: To provide a portable timepiece in which the maintenance of a winding stem pipe and its surroundings is facilitated. Basically provided is a portable timepiece comprising a winding stem pipe releasably screwed into a pipe attachment opening of a case band, in which portable timepiece an accidental rotation of a crown is avoided by bringing a crown head of the crown into screw-engagement with a pipe end of the winding stem pipe disposed outside of the case band such that the crown head caps the pipe end. A ring receiver is formed on one of the pipe attachment opening and an insert portion of the winding stem pipe screwed into the opening. A soft and resilient friction ring is supported on the other of the pipe attachment opening and the insert portion. The friction ring is resiliently brought into tight contact with the ring receiver to prevent a rotation of the winding stem pipe.

  • Patent number: 7111977
Abstract: To provide a portable watch enabling components exchange around a crown while retaining the waterproof capability of a winding-stem-pipe attachment section when the screw lock capability is reduced. A winding stem pipe is screwed into a pipe-attachment hole of a case band for attachment in a removable manner. To an intracase-band end section of this winding stem pipe, provided is a screw section being a reverse screw to a first male screw section of the winding stem pipe screwed into the pipe-attachment hole. To this screw section, a clamp ring is screwed into in a removable manner. The case band is sandwiched by the ring and the extracase-band end section of the winding stem pipe screwed with the crown, and a waterproof gasket is sandwiched between the case band and the winding stem pipe.

  • Patent number: 7052173
Abstract: To provide a timepiece whose bezel can be easily attached and detached by a user without requiring a special-purpose tool. A male screw, an annular groove disposed downwardly away from the male screw and an annular clearance groove positioned between the annular groove and the male screw are provided on the outer periphery of an annular convex of a case band to which a cover glass is attached. A soft and resilient engagement ring is fitted to the annular groove such that the engagement ring projects out from the annular groove. A bezel includes on its inner periphery a female screw disposed within the clearance groove for releasably engaging with the male screw and an annular engagement convex having a stopper slope. The stopper slope is disposed below the female screw to tightly contact with the outer periphery of the ring. The bezel attached in a condition in which the ring tightly contacts with the stopper slope is rotated in a loosening direction of the bezel through a screw-engagement between the screws.

  • Patent number: 6886975
Abstract: To provide a watch in which, in case where a screw lock function has decreased, a part exchange around a crown is made possible while ensuring a waterproofness. To an outside winding stem pipe having a bridge portion and brazed to a case band there is passed an inside winding stem pipe having a male screw portion directed to an outside of the case band and a convex portion colliding against the bridge portion so as to be capable of being put in or out, the pipe is locked to the pipe by a lock means provided over both of the winging stem pipes, and the pipe is interposed between an attaching ring detachably meshing with the pipe and the convex portion, thereby positioning the pipe with respect to the former pipe in an axial direction. A crown is detachably meshed with the male screw portion of the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20040257917
Abstract: To provide a portable watch enabling component exchange around a crown when the screw lock capability is reduced. To a case for screw locking a crown, fixed is a winding stem pipe body and a winding stem pipe including an exterior pipe. The winding stem pipe body includes an extracase end section to be arranged outside of the case, and is fixed by brazing to the case to be watertight after inserted into a pipe-attachment hole of the case. To the outer rim plane of the exterior pipe, provided is a male screw section to be screwed together with a female screw section of the crown in a removable manner. To the outer rim of the extracase end section, the exterior pipe is prevented from rotation and then fit thereinto in a removable manner. With such a structure, when the screw lock capability is reduced, characteristically, there is no more need to exchange a watch exterior assembly including the case, and the crown and the exterior pipe of the winding stem pipe for screw locking it can be separately exchanged.

  • Patent number: 6821014
Abstract: A rotating-type bezel apparatus has a case body and a bezel rotatably mounted on the case body and having alternately spaced recesses and projections. A first member is mounted on the case body and has an end portion elastically engageable with surface portions of the recesses and projections of the bezel to impart a click feel to the bezel during rotational movement thereof. A second member is movably mounted on the case body for movement between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the second member engages the first member to prevent a release of an elastic engagement between the front end portion of the main body of the first member and the surface portions of one recess and the two projections on either side of the one recess of the bezel.

  • Publication number: 20030147312
Abstract: To enable instantaneously making switchover of an operating part between a locked state and an unlocked state. An operating button is arranged to be capable of being rotatingly operated between a locked position and an unlocked position, and a stopper member is provided integral with the operating button. When the operating button is in the locked position, projections engage with grooves to restrict movement of the operating button toward a casing. When the operating button is rotated degrees to come to the unlocked position, the projections engage with grooves, which are greater in depth than the grooves, whereby the operating button can be operatively pushed toward the casing.

  • Publication number: 20030137903
Abstract: To form a timepiece body and a strap so that the timepiece body and strap can be connected to and disconnected from each other easily. A strap is connected to a case by moving a stepped pin, which is formed on a bow so as to be integral therewith, via a joint hole portion, and engaging the stepped pin with a smaller-diameter hole portion in a strap-connecting intermediate fastening plate formed on an clasp so as to be integral therewith. When a smaller-diameter portion passes through the joint hole portion, springs are bent, and the joint hole portion is expanded.
