  • Patent number: 4891678
Abstract: An electrostatic recording appartus having a thermally fixing apparatus and an image forming case adapted to accomodate a unit having a toner container disposed adjacent to a thermally fixing apparatus. An open space is provided between the wall of the image forming case and the wall of the toner container. At the upper and lower portions of the open space, vent ports are preferably provided. Heat insulating material is effectively applied to the walls defining the open space.

  • Patent number: 4875063
Abstract: A laser printer or like electrostatic recording apparatus of the type developing an electrostatic latent image provided on a photoconductive drum by toner which is conveyed by a developing roller. Various devices of the apparatus including the photoconductive drum and developing roller are separated into an upper and a lower unit which are openable away from each other. A photoconductive drum assembly including the photoconductive element and a developing assembly including the developing roller are individually detachable from a body of the apparatus. Various measures are taken to enhance stable and safe operation, miniaturization, easy maintenance, operability, service life, and image quality.

  • Patent number: 4750020
Abstract: A sheet feeding apparatus suitable for use in combination with an imaging system, such as a copier or printer, for feeding sheets of paper one by one to the imaging system is provided. The apparatus includes a predetermined path along which a sheet of paper is transported and a sensor for detecting the presence of a sheet of paper in a predetermined region of the path. When paper jamming of another sheet of paper is detected, if the sensor detects the presence of a sheet of paper in the predetermined region, a controller controls such that the sheet of paper in the predetermined region is transported in the reversed direction so that the sheet of paper is returned to a paper storing section for use in the next cycle of operation. With such a structure, any sheet of paper left unused in the travelling path when paper jamming of another sheet of paper has occurred is automatically returned to its storage so that the operator is not required to remove this unused sheet of paper.

  • Patent number: 4629309
Abstract: A developer supply system for a dry process electrophotographic copier supplies a single component or dual component type developer to a developing unit. After a used developer has been discharged from the developing unit, a fresh charge of carrier is supplied to the developing unit and, then, a fresh charge of toner to be mixed with the fresh carrier. A circuit is provided for controlling such a sequence. Independent cylindrical cartridges are allocated to the toner of the single composition developer and to the toner and carrier of the dual composition developer. Each of the cartridges is received in a cylindrical cartridge. The cartridge casing is mounted in a hopper casing associated with the developing unit and is driven for rotation therein.
