  • Patent number: 5592365
Abstract: There is provided a display panel assembly structure capable of achieving a highly reliable connection even when fine-pitch electrode terminals are employed. A second electrode terminal is embedded in a flexible printed circuit board, and protrudes slightly from the flexible printed circuit board within a range of 0 to 2.times.10.sup.-3 mm. By embedding the second electrode terminal in the flexible printed circuit board, an apparent thickness of the second electrode terminal is reduced while keeping the rigidity of the second electrode terminal to thereby improve etching accuracy of a top surface thereof. With the reduction of the protrusion amount of the second electrode terminal, a ratio of a thickness of an anisotropic conductive film to a diameter of a conductive particle can be made to be approximately "1".

  • Patent number: 5592199
Abstract: A panel having a plurality of electrode terminals disposed along a peripheral portion of one surface thereof is assembled at small size, less weight, and low cost. Flexible wiring boards on which a drive IC is mounted are connected to the electrode terminals, and circuit wiring is connected to the flexible wiring boards. On both sides of the peripheral portion of the panel, a first junction terminal and a second junction terminal are provided. By a first circuit wiring, the second junction terminal corresponding to one flexible wiring board is connected to the first junction terminal corresponding to another flexible wiring board adjacent to the flexible wiring board. An input terminal, output terminals, and a third junction terminal that lead to the drive IC are provided at places corresponding to the various terminals on one surface of the flexible wiring boards. By the second circuit wiring, the input terminal is connected to the third junction terminal.

  • Patent number: 5528403
Abstract: A flat type display device is assembled compactly with high reliability. The flat type display device has a liquid crystal panel having electrode terminals on a peripheral portion of one face of the liquid crystal panel, a flexible wiring board having a drive IC mounted thereon for driving the liquid crystal panel, and a common wiring board having electrode terminals on one face thereof. The flexible wiring board is electrically connected to the electrode terminals of the liquid crystal panel. The common wiring board is electrically connected to the flexible wiring board so as to transmit an input signal, which has been received by the electrode terminals from external, to the drive IC.

  • Patent number: 5209671
Abstract: An electric connection structure including a first circuit board having a terminal on one side thereof, a second circuit board having a terminal on one side thereof, flexible wiring means having a flexible base and a wiring portion thereon and electrically connecting the terminal of the first circuit board with the terminal of the second circuit board. The first and second circuit boards are in face-to-face contact with each other at terminal-free sides thereof; the flexible wiring means catches the first and second circuit boards so as to come into contact with their terminals at the wiring portion. A holding device removably clamps the first and second circuit boards together with the wiring portion of the flexible wiring means sandwiched by the holding device and the first and second circuit boards so as to press the wiring portion against the terminals of the first and second circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 4862153
Abstract: A flat matrix display panel having every side connected to an end of a flexible wiring substrate with an LSI chip loaded thereon. The flexible wiring substrate is formed into an S shape cross section by folding the substrate along an upper and a lower frames. The LSI chip is located near the center of the S-shaped substrate. The other end of the flexible wiring substrate is connected to a PC board which has other circuit components mounted thereon.

  • Patent number: 4690510
Abstract: There is disclosed a structure of a matrix display unit having a matrix display panel with mutually perpendicular groups of signal and scaning electrodes and a wiring board mounting thereon a driver circuit having output terminals disposed on two marginal edges of the wiring board. At least one of the marginal edges is bent closely toward the matrix display panel. Terminal electrodes of one of the groups of the matrix electrodes are electrically connected to the bent marginal edge in confronting relation through an electrically conductive anisotropic member, terminal electrodes of the other group of the matrix electrodes are electrically connected to the other marginal edge through a bent electrically conductive anisotropy member or a flexible wiring sheet.

  • Patent number: 4347074
Abstract: A sealing technique is disclosed by which the firing voltage of atmospheric discharge is increased by a pressurizing procedure such that the internal pressure of a sealing chamber is held at room temperature above half (0.5) of the atmospheric pressure even after the completion of sealing. Preferably, the pressurizing procedure is accomplished by a partial modification in the existing sealing facilities (for example, belt furnaces and low temperature furnaces). In another aspect of the invention, the method for sealing a semiconductor device minimizes water in the chamber after sealing by suppressing water expelled from glass frit during sealing or allowing the glass frit to absorb the water expelled therefrom. In other words, sealing is performed first under nitrogen gas atmosphere and then under oxygen gas atmosphere.
