  • Patent number: 5229237
Abstract: An electrophotographic photosensitive member is produced by coating an electroconductive substrate with a compound represented by formula (1) shown below and a compound represented by formula (2) shown below respectively by spray-coating through separate spraying means to form a photosensitive layer containing the compounds represented by the formulae (1) and (2) respectively on the electroconductive substrate: ##STR1## In the above formulae (1) an (2), Ar.sub.1 and Ar.sub.2 independently denote an aromatic hydrocarbon ring which may have a substituent, a heterocyclic aromatic ring which may have a substituent, or a ring assembly formed by bonding the aromatic rings directly or through an aromatic or non-aromatic bonding group; and R.sub.1 -R.sub.5 independently denote hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, nitro group or cyano group.

  • Patent number: 5202214
Abstract: A process of producing an electrophotographic photosensitive member which can be used in many copying machines and printers is here disclosed, and this process comprises the step of spraying two or more kinds of charge generating materials on an electroconductive support by a coating apparatus in which each of independent spray devices is disposed for each of the charge generating materials, in order to form a photosensitive layer containing the two or more kinds of charge generating materials on the electroconductive support, whereby the electrophotographic photosensitive member is obtained in which the photosensitive layer is formed on the electroconductive support.

  • Patent number: 4944988
Abstract: An ink jet recording sheet having an enhanced ink-absorbing property and bright color image-forming property and an excellent surface hardness has a specific coating layer formed on a surface of a substrate sheet, which comprises a pigment and a resinous binder composed of a cationic copolymer prepared by copolymerizing (a) 99.95 molar % or less of a principal copolymerization component comprising at least one fatty acid vinyl ester comonomer with (b) 0.05 to 0.4 molar % of a cationic copolymerization component comprising at least one cationic comonomer having an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon radical and a cationic radical selected from tertiary amino radicals and quaternary ammonium radicals and, optionally, a member selected from (c) an additional copolymerization component comprising at least one polymerizable non-ionic comonomer different from the fatty acid vinyl ester and (d) a graft copolymerization component comprising polyvinyl alcohol.

  • Patent number: 4595544
Abstract: A method of manufacturing containers covered tightly with a protective sheet with a porous resin film layer or rubber film layer in-between.By the method of this invention, a resin solution or rubber solution is foamed mechanically in advance and the foamed layer made by the foamed resin film or the foamed rubber film then is covered with a heat shrinkable sheet which is heat shrunk tightly to the containers. The foamed layer does not shrink during the heating. Accordingly, the surface of the heat shrinkable sheet is free from waviness due to gas foaming of the covered layer during heat shrinking which has been the case with conventional methods. The method, therefore, does not affect the appearance or printing performance of the surface of the heat shrinkable sheet.
