Publication number: 20230296910Abstract: An optical device with less influence of stray light is provided. The optical device is thin and includes a half mirror, a first lens, a retardation plate, a reflective polarizing plate, and a second lens. In the optical device, a geometric phase lens which has negative and positive refractive power is used as the first lens, whereby images can be focused after magnified optically. Thus, the optical device can have a wide viewing angle. In the case where stray light occurs due to birefringence of an optical material, negative refractive power of the first lens can prevent the stray light from being focused on the eye direction. Accordingly, image degradation recognized due to stray light can be prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: Takeya HIROSE, Ryo HATSUMI, Hisao IKEDA, Daiki NAKAMURA, Yosuke TSUKAMOTO

Patent number: 10132627Abstract: An electronic device has a storage unit that stores unit information relating to movement with respect to each of an elevating state and a horizontal movement state and an altitude measurement unit that measures a series of altitudes. An altitude change determination unit determines whether the movement is the elevating state or not using a first determination section having a first altitude range based on a first set of altitudes within the measured series of altitudes, and determines whether the movement is the horizontal movement state or not using a second determination section having a second altitude range smaller than the first altitude range and based on a second set of altitudes within the measured series of altitudes. A movement distance calculator reads from the storage unit the unit information corresponding to the state determined by the determination unit and calculates a movement distance based on the read unit information.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2014Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: SEIKO INSTRUMENTS INC.Inventors: Keisuke Tsubata, Kazuo Kato, Tomohiro Ihashi, Takanori Hasegawa, Hisao Nakamura, Katsuya Mugishima, Akira Takakura

Publication number: 20160071769Abstract: In order to shield the light incident from the chip side surface or chip rear surface of a semiconductor chip that forms an LCD driver, a light-shielding film is formed over the chip side surface and chip rear surface of the semiconductor chip itself, not using a light-shielding tape that is a component separate from the semiconductor chip. Accordingly, the light-shielding tape as a separate component is not used, and hence the trouble that the light-shielding tape may protrude from the surface of a glass substrate whose thickness has been made small can be solved. As a result, the thinning of a liquid crystal display, and the subsequent thinning of the mobile phone in which the liquid crystal display is mounted can be promoted.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2015Publication date: March 10, 2016Applicant: RENESAS ELECTRONICS CORPORATIONInventors: Seiichi ICHIHARA, Hisao NAKAMURA

Patent number: 9076371Abstract: A display device includes independently driven common and segment terminals. The common and segment terminals are connected to display components divided into display blocks that are turned ON to perform a display function and are turned OFF so as to not perform the display function. A first driver drives the common terminals using a scanning signal of a predetermined period and a second driver drives the segment terminals using a segment signal synchronized with the scanning signal to correspond to a display signal, so that the display components perform a display corresponding to the display signal. The first driver separates the common terminals into common terminal blocks and drives the common terminals. The first and second drivers perform the driving so that the common and segment terminals which are connected to display blocks that are turned OFF are not supplied with a turn-off signal and are maintained at ground potential.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2011Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Assignee: SEIKO INSTRUMENTS INC.Inventors: Kazuo Kato, Akira Takakura, Keisuke Tsubata, Hisao Nakamura, Tomohiro Ihashi, Yoshinori Sugai, Eriko Noguchi, Satoshi Sakai, Takanori Hasegawa, Shotaro Kamiyama
