  • Patent number: 6833225
Abstract: A lithographic printing method forming a uniform layer of a hydrophobic substance on the entire surface of a printing plate precursor having a titanium dioxide-containing surface layer, by irradiating the surface of the precursor with active light to form imagewise hydrophilic areas to make a printing plate, said active light is far-ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 250 to 320 nm.

  • Patent number: 6382853
Abstract: A thermal printer free of the unevenness of an image is devised so that dust is prevented from adhering to an ink ribbon. In the thermal printer for generating a color image on a recording material by a thermal head and others using an ink ribbon, the ink ribbon is automatically rewound by a length within one image plane and kept on standby after printing is finished and at the time of next printing, the ink ribbon is automatically let out by the length formerly rewound and gets ready for printing.

  • Patent number: 6124874
Abstract: A dust eliminator for removing dust prior to a thermal transfer type recording, in a device such as a thermal or laser printer, using a plurality of rollers which possess varying adhesive strengths. A toner sheet is supplied to a printing surface of a thermal head from a supply roll. The toner sheet comes in contact with an adhering surface of a roller with weak adhesive strength, prior to the thermal head, removing dust from the surface of the toner sheet. The toner sheet then comes into contact with an adhering surface of a roller with strong adhesive strength, removing any remaining dust which did not adhere to the weak adhesive roller. The toner sheet then passes though a clearance between the thermal head and a platen roll and is wound by a toner by a winding roll.

  • Patent number: 5793181
Abstract: A feed apparatus for feeding a recorded image or film (scanned medium) in a reading or recording apparatus has a feed drum for feeding the scanned medium and a motor for rotating the feed drum. The rotating states of the feed drum and the motor are detected respectively by a rotary encoder and a frequency generator for feedback control of the feed drum and the motor. The eccentricity of the feed drum is limited to a predetermined value which is calculated according to the following equation:.DELTA.D=1/2{(T+D).DELTA.L/L-2.DELTA.T}where .DELTA.D represents the predetermined value, L the length of the scanned medium in the auxiliary scanning direction, .DELTA.L the allowable feed error of the scanned medium in the auxiliary scanning direction, T the thickness of the scanned medium, and .DELTA.L the thickness variation of the scanned medium.
