  • Patent number: 6396201
Abstract: In a piezoelectric vibrator having a center supporting piezoelectric vibrating reed, one edge of an almost rectangular piezoelectric vibrating reed is fixed at two places of a case by a comparatively hard conductive adhesive. Also, the other edge facing the above-mentioned one edge is fixed at two other places of the case by a comparatively soft adhesive. Further, the case and a lid to cover the piezoelectric vibrating reed which constitute a container for the piezoelectric vibrator are sealed using a glass material having a low melting point of 340° C. or less. Further, in the case of a cantilever supporting piezoelectric vibrating reed, stoppers made of soft adhesive are formed at the top and bottom of the other edge facing the above-mentioned one edge with a slight clearance being provided.

  • Patent number: 6194816
Abstract: A base (10) has a substantially cylindrical plug (12) penetrated by two leads 14. A piezoelectric oscillator (24) is secured to and supported on ends of the two leads by supports (26). The supports (26) are formed from solder having as high lead content of more than 60% by weight, preferably 85 to 98% by weight. A cap (28) open at one end is fitted on the piezoelectric oscillator (24). The plug (12) seals the open end of the cap (28) and forms a gas-tight casing, thus forming a piezoelectric oscillator unit with piezoelectric oscillator (24) held gas-tight in the inside. The high lead content solder is soft and has a low Young's Modulus, so that it can disperse stress when the piezoelectric oscillator experiences. It is thus possible to evade stress concentration on the piezoelectric oscillator (24) and improve shock resistance. A layer of a solder with a lead content of 60% by weight or less or of tin or a tin alloy, is formed on the surface of the leads (14), and ensures solder wetting property.

  • Patent number: 6006544
Abstract: A refrigeration cycle that controls the deposit of foreign matter at inlet or outlet of a capillary tube, which forms an expansion device in the refrigeration, regardless of changeover from a cooling operation to a heating operation. In particular, in a refrigeration cycle using an alternative refrigerant, a junction is provided for joining an end of a capillary tube forming an expansion device to the piping through which the refrigerant flows. The junction has a slope defined by the inside diameter thereof, which gradually decreases from the side of the junction that joins the piping to the side of the junction that joined the capillary tube. An end portion of the capillary tube projects into the junction at the piping side. The projecting end of the capillary tube is opened obliquely to the axial line of the capillary tube. A hole is formed in the peripheral wall of the projecting end of the capillary tube.

  • Patent number: 5982077
Abstract: An insulating substrate (1) is a laminate of a first insulating substrate (1a) and a second insulating substrate (1b) on which wires and electrodes are formed previously. In this case a concavity is formed on the insulating substrate (1) by a hollow part (4) of the first insulating substrate (1a) and an upper surface of the second insulating substrate. Metallic wires are also arranged on an area corresponding to a bottom surface of the concavity of the second insulating substrate. As a result, space for arranging metallic wires expands and a space between metallic wires can be widened. Further, metallic wires which bypass areas corresponding to external electrodes formed on a lower surface of the second insulating substrate can be formed. This results in smaller stray capacitance between an electrode and a wire and between wires.

  • Patent number: 5585687
Abstract: A piezoelectric oscillator comprises a piezoelectric oscillating reed, an insulating substrate for retaining the piezoelectric oscillating reed, and a cap fixed onto the top surface of the insulating substrate for enclosing the piezoelectric oscillating reed. Four connecting electrodes are formed on the top surface of the insulating substrate for electrical connection to the oscillating reed, which are divided into two groups. Each group includes two connecting electrodes which are connected to each other by metal interconnects. The insulating substrate is rectangular, and two connecting electrodes, each of which belong to one group, are located along the shorter sides of the insulating substrate. On the bottom surface of the insulating substrate, at least two external electrodes are formed, to which metal interconnects for each group are connected through the side surface of the insulating substrate.

  • Patent number: 4750063
Abstract: The present invention provides a floppy disk drive which can removably receive a cartridge containing a floppy disk and which can travel a READ/WRITE head to the desired track on the floppy disk while rotating the floppy disk at a constant speed for effecting the desired read/write action under an electric-magnetic conversion. The drive is of a top-up type which includes a frame portion and a carrier which can be popped up from the frame portion. The frame portion includes a spindle motor for directly driving the floppy disk, a plurality of positioning pins for positioning the disk cartridge relative to the spindle motor, and a carriage carrying the READ/WRITE head for travelling the head to the desired track on the disk. The carrier is pivotably supported by the frame portion and adapted to receive the disk cartridge. The cartridge can be loaded into the lower portion of the carrier upon popping-up of the carrier.
