Patent number: 5931700Abstract: A connector housing has a body portion and a hood portion. An insertion detecting member for terminal lugs is movable from provisional locking position to full locking position inside the hood portion. A resilient, terminal-lug locking piece extends in each terminal accommodating cavity in the housing body portion to form a displacement permitting space on a side opposite a side where a terminal lug is inserted. The insertion detecting member has a main frame, insertion detectors corresponding to the displacement permitting spaces, and a pair of manipulating portions at opposite sides of the main frame. When in provisional locking position the manipulating portions are exposed at opposite sides of the housing body portion, and when in full locking position the insertion detectors move into the displacement permitting spaces. Patent number: 5739741Abstract: A metal chip of low-melting metal having a cavity is fixedly held by an embracing portion of a fusible portion of a fuse of a fusible metal conductor. The metal chip has a predetermined outer diameter, and by changing a diameter of a through hole defining the cavity, the volume of the cavity can be adjusted. By doing so, fusion characteristics of the fusible portion can be adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1996Date of Patent: April 14, 1998Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hisashi Hanazaki, Mitsuhiko Totsuka

Patent number: 5722857Abstract: There are provided a resilient engaging piece to the terminal metal part provided through the resilient displacement permissible space opposite to the terminal accommodating cavity formed at a connector body portion of the connector, and the insertion detecting body corresponding to the resilient displacement permissible space at the main frame portion of the insertion detecting member for terminal metal parts and a pair of manipulating pieces each at opposite sides thereof. The insertion detecting member for terminal metal parts is caused to move freely to enable the main frame portion thereof to come into contact with the inside wall surface of the hood portion. The pair of manipulating pieces are exposed at both sides of the housing body portion through the window of the hood portion at the provisional engaging position, and the insertion detecting body can be moved to enter into the resilient displacement permissible space at the formal engaging position.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1996Date of Patent: March 3, 1998Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hitoshi Saito, Kazuto Ohtaka, Hitoshi Sakai, Hisashi Hanazaki

Patent number: 5679034Abstract: A plurality of retaining piece portions are formed at an edge of a tubular body of a female electrical connection member, and the retaining piece portions are bent to clampingly retain plural portions in one end of a resilient contact piece. As a result, the retaining piece portions can be bent easily, and a crack is prevented from developing at the bent portion. And besides, since the resilient contact piece is fixed by the retaining piece portions at the plurality of portions thereof spaced from one another, stresses, concentrating on the fixed portions of the resilient contact piece, are distributed on the fixed portions, so that permanent set of the resilient contact piece due to deterioration of its resiliency can be prevented.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1996Date of Patent: October 21, 1997Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hisashi Hanazaki, Mitsuharu Nakamura

Patent number: 5546066Abstract: The present invention provides a delayed-fusion fuse by which its predetermined durability can be reliably ensured, and its stable pre-arcing time-current characteristics can be obtained, even when a current exceeding the steady-state current such as a motor lock current frequently flows in the fuse. The delayed-fusion fuse includes a pair of electric connecting sections formed on both sides of a fusible section having a narrow fusing portion made of an electrically conductive metal. Also, the delayed-fusion fuse includes a metallic chip made of low fusing point metal for absorbing heat generated in the fusible section, and a covering and adhering section for holding the metallic chip on the fusible section. A thin metallic layer forms a solid solution with the low fusing point metal, where the solid solution requires an energy of formation which is higher than that of the formation of a solid solution made of the electrically conductive metal and the low fusing point metal.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1994Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hiroki Kondo, Mitsuhiko Totsuka, Toshiharu Kudo, Hisashi Hanazaki
