  • Publication number: 20240103080
Abstract: A malfunction detection method detects a malfunction in an electronic control device. The electronic control device includes a normal power supply terminal connected to a normal power supply mounted on a vehicle, a starting power supply terminal connected to a starting power supply, a controller activated by supply of a normal voltage, and a wake-up circuit having a wake-up switch to open and close a power supply path from the normal power supply terminal to the controller. The wake-up circuit turns on the wake-up switch when a starting voltage input to the starting power supply terminal is equal to or greater than an ON threshold. The malfunction detection method includes determining by the controller that the wake-up switch has an ON sticking malfunction when the normal voltage is equal to or greater than a threshold and the starting voltage is less than the ON threshold.

  • Patent number: 6285644
Abstract: In order to provide an optical pickup apparatus having a structure suitable for making thin, compact and light, there is provided a yoke member having two standing plates for forming magnetic poles and a horizontal yoke plate for connecting the standing plates to each other and having a U-shaped cross section, magnets provided on surfaces in the mutually opposing sides of two standing plates, a focus coil formed by being wound in an annular shape and arranged around the standing plate in a movable manner in a height direction and two track coils formed by being wound in an annular shape, in which a size in the direction of the horizontal width of the magnet is set to be equal to or greater than a height in the standing direction of the magnet, and a size in the direction of the horizontal width of the yoke is set to be equal to or greater than a height in the standing direction of the yoke.

  • Patent number: 5428489
Abstract: A magnetic head support device has a canti-levered flexure mounted at one end on an arm and having a recess defined in the opposite end thereof. A gimbal is supported on the flexure and disposed in the recess, and a head slider is mounted on the gimbal. The flexure also has a pair of spaced support legs on opposite sides of the recess, with the gimbal having a pair of opposite portions supported respectively on the support legs. The flexure includes a pair of bent lips extending along respective opposite edges thereof in spaced relationship to the arm. The flexure also includes a leaf spring connected to the arm. The leaf spring has a through opening defined therein or is at least partly thinner than the remainder of the flexure.

  • Patent number: 5347414
Abstract: A magnetic disk drive includes a resilient load pin engageable with a flexure to urge the same until a floating magnetic head having a negative pressure slider is displaced toward a magnetic head beyond a floating position. This ensures that the magnetic head is placed into the floating position even when it is slightly displaced from an accurate assembling position due to an assembling error. Since the resilient load pin is resiliently bendable when it urges the flexure in a direction to move the magnetic head toward the magnetic disk beyond the floating position, a frictional engagement between the magnetic head and the magnetic disk does not take place.

  • Patent number: 5274519
Abstract: A magnetic recording apparatus includes an arm, an airvane, a regulating member, and an urging member. The arm has a head slider including a magnetic head at a free end thereof, and is moved by an actuator device between a scan position and a stop position. The arm scans a surface of a disk for reading and/or writing information thereon at the scan position. The head slider is elastically supported on the arm by a flexure. The airvane is disposed adjacent to the disk, and is urged to a first position in opposition to a direction of air flow generated by rotation of the disk. The airvane moves in response to air flow generated by rotation of the disk to a second position in the direction of the air flow. The regulating member is provided at a position corresponding to the stop position of the arm and connected with the airvane.

  • Patent number: 4698866
Abstract: An improved construction of a movable bridge structure which comprises a plurality of segment block means consisting of at least one self-propelled block means and at least one non-propelled block means adapted to be coupled releasably with the adjacent self-propelled block means, and translating means adapted to have the non-propelled block translated onto and out of the adjacent self-propelled block means.
