    Abstract: A surface-mounted light-emitting diode can be employed as a light source for cell phones and other electronic devices and contributes to the downsizing of electronic devices. An optically transmissive resin can have a surface provided with metallic films formed thereon and be employed to seal an LED chip and wires therein. The LED chip can be mounted on the metallic film via a conductive adhesive to achieve an electrical connection between a lower electrode of the LED chip and the metallic film. The wires can be connected between upper electrodes of the LED chip and the metallic films to achieve electrical conduction between the upper electrodes of the LED chip and the metallic films.

    Abstract: A screen cover opening device for a television receiver is provided with a screen cover openably closing left and right side portions or upper and lower side portions of a screen adapted for electively displaying plural different aspect ratio images. Two vertically extending rolls 5a, 5b are arranged at outwardly shifted positions from left and right lateral sideswrapped around of the screen 2 and an endless cover sheet 3 is wrapped around these rolls. Two windows 4a, 4b are formed at longitudinally spaced apart positions of the cover sheet 3. The rolls are rotated to run the cover sheet to change overlap of the two windows to change the transverse width W that may be viewed through overlapped portions of the two windows.

    Abstract: A jet solder bath is comprised of a bath unit which contains a molten solder, a nozzle member provided within the bath unit and constructing a nozzle mouth, a tank provided in at least one side of the nozzle member along the nozzle mouth and temporarily accumulating a solder jetted from the nozzle mouth, and a molten solder outlet provided on the lower portion of the tank and communicating the tank with a molten solder still area provided within the solder bath unit under the liquid level of the molten solder. According to the above-mentioned arrangement, the molten solder can be suppressed from being oxidized as much as possible and the removal of a resultant oxide can be facilitated.

According to the present invention, the tape guide drum along the side of which the magnetic tape is caused to run while contacting with it has a cut-out at its portion free of contact with the magnetic tape, while a rotary transformer adapted for receiving and transmitting recording and/or reproducing signals at or from a rotary magnetic head is mounted so as to be enclosed within the interior of the tape guide drum to reduce the size and thickness of the rotary magnetic head device.

    Abstract: Tuning apparatus of the type including at least first and second tuners, such as AM and FM tuners, operable to be tuned over respective broadcast frequency bands. The tuning apparatus includes a dial scale calibrated in at least two sets of gradations to represent the particular frequencies in the respective frequency bands to which the tuners are tuned and an indicator movable across the scale to indicate the frequency to which a respective tuner is tuned. The apparatus comprises at least one first settable element associated with a corresponding frequency band to be set to a desired location along the scale and at least one second settable element associated with a different frequency band to be set to a desired location along the scale. Sensors are coupled to and movable with the indicator to sense each of the first and second settable elements as the indicator is moved across the scale.
