  • Publication number: 20020167101
Abstract: In a 3D object molding apparatus (10), a tank (18d) holds an uncolored or white resin as a first material for use in interior molding, and tanks (18a to 18c) hold colored resins as second materials for use in surface molding. These resin materials are jetted from injection nozzles (15a to 15d) in the direction of a stage (20). A drive control unit (12) serving as control means moves a nozzle head (15) in the XY plane and controls jets of resin materials from the injection nozzles (15a to 15d). In the interior molding of a 3D molded product (21), at least the first material is jetted, while in the surface molding, at least the second materials are jetted. The injection nozzles (15a to 15c) are coloring nozzles to jet colored resins in molding color portions of the 3D molded product, and the injection nozzle (15d) is a molding nozzle to jet an uncolored molding resin in molding the other portions.

  • Patent number: 6334672
Abstract: The present invention relates to an inkjet recording head, which includes an ink cavity and an ink discharge port, a mounting member covering the ink cavity, an oscillating member, and a substrate to support the oscillating member. Various parts of the inkjet recording head are held together with adhesive. In attaching the piezoelectric element to the mounting member, opposing surfaces of the oscillating member and the mounting member are fixed to one another with adhesive. Then, the two members are pressed together, thereby causing excessive adhesive to emerge from between opposing surfaces of the oscillating member and the mounting member. The emerged adhesive is formed into chamfer to provide the oscillating member and the mounting member with areas of attachment that extend beyond the area of attachment that exists between the opposing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6322198
Abstract: An electrostatic inkjet head has first and second electrodes. The first electrode is supported on a substrate and the second electrode is on a diaphragm so that a gap is formed between the first and second electrodes. A drive circuit is connected to the first and second electrodes to apply a voltage or pulse between the electrodes. When a voltage is applied between the electrodes, an electrostatic attraction force is generated between the electrodes. The attraction force displaces the diaphragm toward the substrate. This displacement of the diaphragm is used for the ejection of ink. Also, when the voltage is turned off, opposing central portions of the first and second electrodes define a gap that is greater than that defined by opposing end portions of the first and second electrodes.

  • Patent number: 6309056
Abstract: An ink jet head for a printer wherein an ink drop is ejected from a nozzle to fly and land on the recording paper to form an image. The ink jet head includes the nozzle for ejecting ink, an ink channel that communicates with the nozzle, a pair of oscillating plates that are opposing to each other on walls of the ink channel, a pair of electrodes disposed in contact with the oscillating plates, an ink chamber for holding the ink, and an inlet for supplying the ink from the ink chamber to the ink channel. A gap between the electrodes is filled with the ink having a relative dielectric constant higher than air. A voltage is applied between the electrodes.
