    Abstract: A transmission control apparatus controls transmission of a packet requesting a name resolution. A determining unit monitors a state of a server that performs the name resolution, and determines whether there is a failure in a first server. A transmission control unit converts, when the determining unit determines that there is a failure in the first server, a destination address set in the packet into a destination address of a second server, and transmits the packet to the second server.
